These are water coconuts, not grown for meat
These are water coconuts, if your wanting meat these won鈥檛 have that. They are grown for the water, no meat. Very happy with quality of water, pricey but worth it if you like fresh coconut milk 馃憤

The first one I opened is good has meat. The 2 does not have it is like phlegm giving two spoon. The seller knows which one has meat. So be honest in sending items

A Taste of the Caribbean in Ohio
My wife had no idea what green coconuts were all about, so I ordered these from Amazon. They were perfect, and she loved them! They were fresh, and the water and jelly inside were delicious! Thanks for a wonderful culinary taste experience without having to go to a tropical location to get it!

Not worth Cost poor quality
One of the coconuts was so small and young there was nothing in it. I grew up as coconuts being part of our culture. This one coconut reminds me of when they trim the trees and some of them were thrown away because they were too young to even have much water with no meat in it. Spoon type of meat or not there is nothing. Paid for 3 coconuts expected 3 not 2 1/4 would not purchase again. Update all 3 coconuts was worthless as far as having any coconut meat. Being from Hawaii i know what the so called spoon meat/very soft gel like coconut meat that can be found in green coconuts. These Coconuts are those that are either thrown away or let on the tree to mature a little more before they have any coconut meat in it. Do not buy these if you are seeking soft coconut meat. These are worthless

Too ripe, but it's a start
When in the tropics near an ocean, you're burning up. You stop at a roadside vendor. They pull a bright green coconut from their cooler, hack the top off with a machete, add a dollop of rum, stir, and you get it just like that. The inside is more like pudding. Kids love it. Groceries in the US are oddly ignorant about tropical fruits. The brown bare-shelled coconut they sell is used for cattle food in tropical countries. Papayas are ruined by chilling and pineapples nearly ruined. They're a little more careful with bananas, and they're learning to stock gold kiwis. This box of coconuts that I ordered was overripe. The water had separated, but there was still a little soft meat. The outside was mostly brown. This was not what I had hoped for, but I am delighted that maybe a market for green coconut is developing. Maybe even one day, US supermarkets will stop chilling perfect papayas and pineapples before their customers can find out what a real one is supposed to be like.
