Makes sure you see and are seen.
After reading the reviews for this light i took the plunge and coughed up what i think is a lot of cash for a bike light! Most days I cycle on A roads and country lanes in all conditions and light levels so being visible to other road users is critical (especially along country lanes). I have to say i was surprised by how bright this light is, given the compact size. It is very bright and the flashing mode seems to be very visible to car drivers even during a bright day. Paired up with a Bontrager Flare R at the back and I feel much safer than with my previous lights and I have noticed other road users give me much more room when they overtake. The build quality is good and it feels very tough and sturdy in the hand. Charging via USB is simple and straight forward as is using the various modes. Fitting is simple and it clips on and off its bracket easily when you want to lock your bike in a public space. After a month of use it has remained waterproof but i have not been in any serious rain, just a few showers. So far I would say buy it, despite the price tag.

A very versatile piece of kit.
Have been using cat eye products for over seven years, and they are excellent quality for the price. Built to last.My own experience with the “CatEye volt 800” has been nothing but praise for it's outstanding performance.1. Great bike light, day and night, and out of urban areas where there is no street lights, this is when it comes into its own, lighting the darkest paths well ahead of you.2. Dismount the light and use as a pocket torch.3. Also when you unscrew the battery and were to purchase the “Fast charging cradle” (model:CRA-002) not only will it enable a quicker charge of the battery, but you will have a power bank to charge your phone or any other compatible device.

Great light for the money
Great light - nice and bright for Welsh mountain roads and handy strobe for travelling around town. Beam could be a bit broader but definitely good enough. Battery life OK. Takes a little while to charge so OK if you remember to do it in advance of next use. Stays in position without moving around and easy to remove when you park your bike.

Brilliant little light - literally
As a daily commuter who has to go through some unlit areas, I already had what I thought was a bright light, but it's not even in the same ball park as this. I was looking for a light that would work both on roads and down unlit tracks, and this fits the bill perfectly. There are three brightness settings and two different styles of flashing, one where the light stays on and flashes at a slow rate, one where it just flashes but at a faster rate. Of the three brightness settings, I tend to leave it on the middle one, but because it gives a nice white light it's easily bright enough to see where I'm going, with a visible range getting on for 30 - 40 yards, and I mean you can actually identify what's 40 yards away, not just that there's something there. Some comments make note of the beam pattern being too square or oblong, that might be true if you're racing down a forest path at midnight, but I find it lights up either side of my track nicely and I can see quite easily where I'm going. At about 12cm long (4 1/2 inches) by 3cm round (1 1/4 inches), it's small enough you can carry round, it has a detachable battery and a micro usb port for recharging. If you're looking for a good bright light without paying completely silly money, I highly recommend this one. I'm thinking of getting another and throwing my older light away this one's so good.

This gives a good wide beam and with 800 lumens lights my way ...
I had a Moon light which I thought couldn't be bettered, but this gave up the ghost when it slipped out of my hands removing it from the bars. This one is in a different league though.I hadn't realised how focused the beam of the Moon one was until I got this. This gives a good wide beam and with 800 lumens lights my way well on the dark track I ride through fields on my way home. It's easy to to turn on and off and change settings even with gloves. You need no tools to attach it to the bars so you can easily transfer it between bikes when needed. The other thing that annoyed me about the Moon was that it needed the bigger USB type charger so it meant having a separate cable at work to charge it. This one, sensibly, uses a standard micro USB so I can charge it with the same cable as for my phone etc.Highly recommend and well worth the money if you commute in the dark.

stopped charging after 2.5 months and no way to obtain a refund. non existent customer service if light goes wrong
I bought this torch on the 7th november 2017 and under 3 months later it will not charge whatsoever.WARNING: THIS COMPANY DOES NOT DO REFUNDS AFTER 30 DAYS ON AMAZON, so I have thrown away the best part of £70 on a paperweight. Was a great light while it lasted but lack of refund/return options on such an expensive item is ludicrous.

Expensive torch
It really is bright, it lights up the road well and no one will miss you but it really heats up and is incredibly expensive for a torch. The battery life on the high beam isn't great and on the lower beam you are just left wondering if a sub £10 LED torch wouldn't do the same thing. You do get approving glances from other eejits who also possess more money than sense (or those that aspire to that) but this has become my major gripe with the thing.

Compact but powerful front light.
Using on my commute which is some town and mostly countryside/forest so gets totally dark. Even on 200 lumens in total dark you get great viz. Need to be aware how powerful it is to oncoming cars and pedestrians. No faults so far and great (removable) fitting to handlebars. USB re charge off the laptop. Highly recommended.
