Daewoo Essentials 1.7L Fast Boil Kettle (White) Simple and reliable kettle. Boils quickly, easy to use, and does the job well for everyday use. Good value for the price.

Does it work smoothly while extremely affordable

Cheap and okay. Looks clean and fresh. No plastic taste like you get with other kettles. Easy opening pull back lid. Good size but what lets it down is the spout, which doesn’t pour nicely. It spills everywhere so for that reason wouldn’t buy again

Note: The electric cable sticks out from the front of the unit and not the back, which is dangerous. Not sturdy enough the kettle does not sit on the base very well. When you have boil-up some water for drinks etc... May be an hour or so later you want to boil some more water, you lift the lid-up and residue of water droplets run down the handle back of the kettle on to the work surface, too close to the electrics on the base, dangerous! Bad Design!!!

Very impressed with this and after six months there is hardly any limescale on the exposed element.

Very good value for money. But a few notes of caution: it is not as powerful as some other kettles, so boils a bit slower (it tells you the power in the ad, so this is not a fault or a cheat). (I measured 2.25kW with my watt-meter, and my house voltage is typically about 245 volts, the top end of the spectrum in the UK). It tends to get steam condensing in the lid, so that after it has cooled down, when you open the lid to refill it, the condensed water from the lid drips down the back of the kettle. I have to discipline myself not to lift the lid before lifting the kettle off the base, or else it drips down into the live socket on the base (it has done this multiple times, and so far, no exciting blue flashes of arcing in the base, but it worries me that might be possible. I wouldn't like a child to handle it).
