This is a very delicate, yet ESSENTIAL, piece of the Ameda Purely Yours pump. A common complaint is that they get warped easily. Most people are yanking this piece off to clean it by pulling directly on the tip, which is the softest and most delicate part. I don't touch that part at all. I use a spoon (if you have tiny hands you could use your fingers) to gently pull the piece off of the flange, and I've never had a problem with this piece. That leads me to believe that previous reviewers are being too rough with a tiny piece of plastic.
