Frigidaire FFRA1022R1 Window-Mounted Compact Air Conditioner, 10,000 BTU

I``m comparing the Frigidaire unit to a Koldfront unit both 10,000BTU models,build quality on both are very good,Koldfront seems to have better cooling power or cooling brute force as its sound level is a bit higher but for sheer cooling output the Koldfront gets 5 stars easy,the Frigidaire is quieter so much more living/bedroom friendly,also the remote on the Frigidaire gets 5 stars,Koldfront remote never worked for me,if you want pure cooling power go Koldfront,for slightly less cooling power but a bit more quiet go Frigidaire,both easy to install and came with side skirts and everything needed to setup and be up and running in 10 minutes.

I did not buy this on Amazon, but did get it at Lowes. Just installed, so this is not a long term review.Installation is SUPER easy. You do not need a support bracket to hold it in place outside the window. It fits snug in a sash window, the top pane holds the unit in place and gets screwed into a holding bar. So don't spend extra for a platform or bracket.I installed a smaller 6000 btu unit in the bedroom myself, it was light enough. This one may require an extra set of hands to hold in place while you secure it in the sill. All in all, it takes about 20-30 minutes to unpack, ready the unit and secure it in place.It is loud. The chart puts it at 60 decibels (normal conversational tone), but I've got this unit in my living room now on eco mode and it sounds like you're standing next to a car revving it's engine. this is why I'm taking a star off.Overall, I am now sitting in a completely cool house. I have a 6k in the back of the house, and this 10k in the front and with my ceiling fans on it's created a nice flow of consistently cool air.This customer is pleased.

I needed to replace a 20-year-old air conditioner that was quite noisy, and would sometimes trip the circuit breaker. This unit is smaller, lighter, quieter, and much more power efficient. It cools two medium-sized rooms connected by an extra wide doorway. I live in coastal Southern California, so I don't get a lot of really hot days in the summer, and it's not very humid, but occasionally it will get up into the high 90s, or even into the 100s, and this unit does the job.The noise level is much better than my old unit. Even on high fan speed, the fan noise is quite tolerable, especially considering how much air it is moving. Also, I like the remote control -- I can change the temperature/fan speed without having to get up. Installation wasn't too bad -- I didn't have to put a support outside the window.

We received this air conditioner a few days ago. We have central air but the kitchen gets hot when I cook so I put it in one of the kitchen windows. The product came damaged, bottom piece was cracked and the front piece didn't line up right. The box I could tell had damage. So I called to send it back and have a new one sent and how to send this one back. Amazon said they didn't want the product back but would refund our money... so I didn't know what to do with it. I messed around with it for awhile and got the front piece to look okay and I was just going to live with the crack! So I popped it in the window and the air conditioner works fine!

I bought this product to use instead of my central a/c that costs a ton of money to run all the time. This a/c successfully cools down 3 rooms in my house. It is actually much better than I was expecting. I love the remote which has a far range. On cool nights I can put it on fan mode and open the vent to allow the cool air in. It gets really cold and I haven't even needed to put it on the lowest setting. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the "wings" that fill the gap between the unit and the window was sort of cheap, and bent as we were putting it in the window. Other than that though, this a/c has been great for my family and cut my energy bill more than half.

Excellent AC used in our Condo Lobby. Its a little larger BTU than we needed but it works well. Excellent product. It pulls Humidity down quickly in a small lobby and elevator room. Thanks

The one thing I like about this A/C is that it fits into a smaller window than most A/Cs do. I bought this last year, so this is the second summer I'm using it. This year, for some reason, I'm having trouble with cold water gathering on the top grill, inside the room, so the A/C blows moisture into the room in the form of fog. The user's manual suggests I haven't tilted the unit outside enough, but it looks like the unit is sloping outside, so I don't know what the problem is. This A/C is not very quiet, even on the lowest setting, and when you peer inside you can see the interior is mostly styrofoam. As they say: "They sure don't make 'em like they used to!"
