Well written knitting book for larger women
I bought this for one pattern, but I will probably try another one or two. The author gives some excellent directions for modifying patterns to fit the larger figure.

Info and pattern pretty good; page layout a mess
Am working on the Waltham Cabled Cardigan from this book in a knit-along. While I'm enjoying the pattern, I'm appalled at the page layout of the pattern itself. The stitch instructions are TWO pages before the cable charts, which are haphazardly split to say the least! That's like placing figures captions TWO pages before the figure. A HUGE no-no in page makeup. Did any knitters actually follow this layout before it printed? As someone who has working in book publishing for 25 years, I'm disgusted with the page makeup.Additionally, while this book is full of all sorts of sizing information that's tremendously informative, it falls short of being tremendously useful. The content itself is constructively organized for the most part, but there is definitely information missing. Why is there no fill-in-the blank schematic page for measurements? Also, the use of color in the patterns is very poor/non-existent. Take p.50 in the Waltham Cabled Cardigan. Why weren't the cable patterns color-coded along with the stitch instructions? The book is 4C throughout. Even if the book was spot colored in sections, p.50 has an ill-placed image, so the page is clearly 4C at the very least! This book is the classic case of production failing to properly display and package the content. The editors should know better! What should have been a great book is a mediocre presentation at best. You'll find yourself having to photocopy the pages, reassemble the instructions and color code and highlight to follow patterns. Nuts! The patterns are quite good, but the layout should be reworked to make it more usable for the actual knitter. Shame on you Interweave production!

A "MUST HAVE" for designers and knitters of plus sizes.
As a tech editor, this book is a great tool and covers so much knowledge necessary for not only knitting for plus sizes but also for designing for larger sizes. She covers in depth the reasons why just increasing all measurements don't work, highlighting what measurements must be altered and why. This is an invaluable tool for designers and knitters alike. She appropriately covers methods for changing published patterns and features her own designs that are also able to be launching points for customizing patterns for yourself.

Solid book for plus size knitting
This ex-libris book is well written. It covers why, how, and when you make modifications to patterns for knitting patterns to make them fit plus sizes. There are many very nice patterns in this book. I did buy this book for one pattern in particular. The directions are clearly written and it is in my 'to do' queue.

Love me some warm knits
Beautiful projects. I love that someone has designed knit patterns for plus size women. It’s so hard to adapt smaller size knit patterns to plus size, talking bust and waist into consideration, without completely distorting the original design. I haven’t gotten a chance to start any projects but I hope to soon and will post pictures when I do.

Perfect Designs for Plus Size Women
Fashion is fickle but one thing for certain is designs are for skinny people. Plus sized women look silly in sized up versions because our bodies are not simply larger - they have different proportions. This book has a variety of styles designed specifically to flatter plus-sized women's bodies. I'm drawn to the Shrug with longer sleeves and a low pointed back that is really sharp and the Fair Isle Tunic with vertical lines as opposed to the standard horizontals most Fair Isles feature. The designs are classic and yes there are some features that I would skip for a younger look but even teens look better in clothing designed for their bodies. I was very pleasantly surprised and can't wait to get started on that shrug!

Excellent instructions, some beautiful patterns too.
I am a plus-size girl and am always on the lookout for decent knitwear or knitwear patterns for myself. So much of what is available to buy is beyond ugly - and normally in black or boring colours, so home-made is always better. This book is an excellent resource because it not only provides you with 15 patterns, it gives in-depth instruction on how to personalise the pattern to fit - which is invaluable as we are not all the same shape, even when we are the same size. And it is very easy to end up looking like a sack of potatoes.I will be making a few of the garments in here but have taken off one star because some of the designs are, in my view, a bit on the daggy side. (Some are absolutely beautiful too, don't get me wrong. And we all have differing tastes, after all.) And most of them are SHORT in the body. I hate that. I only ever wear trousers and I want any jumper or top that I wear to come down below all the wobbly bits, not just just below the waist, thus showing off all your rolls and folds for all the world to see. No thank you. For me it is all about the line. And the sleeves need to be covering wobbly upper arms too. Vital. So I will be making use of their hints and tips for personalising their patterns to suit my preferences. Something you cannot easily do with most knitting books and patterns. Great resource!

Excellent for customizing knitting patterns for personal fit
This book is really good at explaining why some clothes don't fit a large busted person, like me, and how to alter it for a better fit. For people who like knitting clothes, there is no point in something not fitting as well as it could and should. Clearly written and explained.

Knitting Plus: Mastering Fit + Plus Size Style
I ordered this book and was very impressed with it. I love to knit and this is a good book to learn how to make a cardigan fit and flattering on a plus size girl.

Great ideas!
This is an excellent book which looks at the different types of sweaters and how they look on different body types. I learned quite a bit about what will flatter me, which is valuable knowledge.I loved the suggestions and will definitely be making quite a few of these sweaters. My only disappointment is that all the sweaters are created in separate pieces; I'll have to convert them for knitting in the round.Well worth the money!
