Long-lasting battery, no problems using it with my Mac
I've been using this mouse for nearly 6 months, almost every day, and have not needed to change the battery yet. It's not just for PCs; the mouse works really well with my MacBook Pro (I just cannot get used to Apple's 1-button mouse). I've used Bluetooth mice in the past that dropped the connection to the computer, wouldn't connect/work right away when waking it up, or had a noticeable lag between my hand movement and the cursor on the screen. Not the case with this mouse. I've never had an issue connecting with my computer immediately, and there is no lag. I do have to click a button once to wake it up after not using my computer for several hours or overnight, but then the mouse works right away. There is an on/off button on the bottom of the mouse to turn it off when traveling or not in use to save battery. I never think to turn the mouse off, so I leave it on all the time, and the battery still lasts a long time. One thing to realize that comes down to personal preference: some people might not like the loud-ish clicks that the buttons and scroll wheel make. There are certainly quieter mice out there. If you're looking for a super quiet mouse, this ain't it.

Best mouse for everyday use
The Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse is a fantastic choice for anyone in need of a portable, reliable, and easy-to-use mouse. Its compact size and seamless connectivity with the MacBook Air make it a great companion for both work and travel. If you're looking for a straightforward, hassle-free mouse that doesn’t take up much space, this is an excellent option.

Fantastic Mouse with one glaring omission
TL;DR review: Recommended. Great mouse. Would be five starts if it had a back-button. I've gone through a few mice from various manufacturers, including a few from Microsoft, and unlike many, this little mouse works seamlessly. It has a pleasing and unique molted white color, with tiny dark threads and dots throughout, giving it almost a rough marble appearance. Could the dark spots be a result of the 20% recycled ocean plastic? They certainly don't detract from the look and I feel that if anything, they enhance the look. When I travel or am using my laptop around the house, I can use the touchpad for brief interactions, but if I'm going to spend any significant amount of time, I like using a mouse instead. I learned Windows using a mouse and after many years of using one at home and in the office, I'm more dexterous with one. I have both a Windows Surface Pro and a few Chromebooks and I wanted a mouse which I could toss in a bag, easily switch between laptops, and leave laying around whenever I needed one. I also didn't want to spend a lot on what I look at as an accessory. I was using a cheap wired Dell mouse with my laptops and kept a cheap HP wired mouse at work, but having to plug and unplug the wired mice each time was doable, but - I donno - inelegant? So I needed a wireless mouse and when I saw The Ocean Mouse at the a Microsoft Center, I was impressed by the portability, it's build, and it's origin story (even the packaging is all paper!). I thought it was going to sell for $50 and was pleasantly surprised to see it for around $20. Cheap enough that were I to lose it, I wouldn't kick myself. But would I like it? It's small... Let's compare it to my Logitech G502: Logitech: 132mm(L), 69mm(W), 40mm (H) actually Microsoft: 100mm(L), 58mm(W), 38mm (H) Note the Logitech lists as 75mm wide, but that takes into account the thumb-rest. So the Ocean Mouse is 32mm shorter, 11mm less in width, and loses 2mm in height. My glove size runs from L to XL, so does having a smaller mouse make a difference? Not really. If I'm gaming, it might, but then again when I game I use my wired Logitech or my wired Razor and not a Bluetooth. The responsiveness if perfect and it easily paired with my Windows machine and all of my Chromebooks. The click-wheel has a nice feel, though once again when compared to the one on a gaming mouse, it's like a comparing a the wheel of a Hummer to a Honda - it's smaller and narrower so it's not as comfortable as a wheel on a full size mouse. Click and scroll-wise it's fine, and were I not comparing mice, I might not have noticed. Would I recommend it or give it as a gift? Definitely. This is a nice mouse which you can use when you travel, as an everyday mouse, as a mouse you can toss in your bag, or as a gift to your college-bound kid. It's exactly what I wanted. So what's missing? Why the 4 star review instead of 5? As I write this review, it's 2022 - most mice come with a back-button. This one doesn't. A minor thing, but something that many of us are used to using when we're browsing the web. I would easily pay an extra $5 for a version with a back button (and maybe make the wheel a little wider, please?)

For The Price It's Good For What You Need It
Lets start off with what I needed this mouse for. I have a 2017 Razer Blade Stealth and the mouse pad it comes with is no slouch but nothing beats having an actual mouse. I am not one that likes having adapters, extenders and wires all over the place. The laptop I have only has two USB ports and I want to make use of those the most I can. I also have small hands (6.5 inches in length and about 3.2 inches in width) so I do not like large mice at all. So Small, lightweight, bluetooth. Comfort: I feel that form factor is a preference, but this mouse for what I need it for does the job great. My hands never feel cramped or sore, or out of place. I use a finger tip grip, so the bottom of the mouse is towards the top of my fingers, my palm rests on the mat. I never had any issues with comfortability and I have had the mouse for three months now. But like I mentioned I have small hands, and this is a small mouse. Size: Its about 3. 5 inches long and 2 and some centimeters wide. Connection: I use this mouse most for my laptop, when college demands all of my attention with multiple tabs open and when I am browsing and doing mundane things on my desktop. Its not a mouse for gaming, the connection over Bluetooth is not miniscule response times. I have had a few times were the connection was either lost or sort of rebooted, where it didn't register for a second and then did right after. But that only happens far and few in between. I rarely have issues with turning on either my desktop or laptop and the mouse not connecting, it always is. I had two instances where the mouse wasn't picking up and I just switched it off and on, after that worked fine. Scroll Wheel: I have seen some reviews here about the scroll wheel being gritty or rough? I have no idea what that is about. Its smooths and doesn't hurt my index finger in anyway. Its quiet and not loud. Doesn't skip or jitter, never had problems. Left/Right Clicks: They are pretty loud, clicky, slightly mushy but nothing crazy I have felt way worse. I have had no double clicks or button presses not registering. Weight: Its light, its basically the weight of the double AA battery they include and not much more. Battery: Three months of having it and windows still tells me it is at 100% so you make that of what you will, lol OS: Only ever used it on Windows, not Mac. But when it comes to apple its either their ecosystem or nothing. TL;DR: Its 15 dollars, it does what it says it will and doesn't feel overly cheap. Its light, connection is there 98% of the time and more battery life than you will know what to do with. Great for anyone with small hands and likes small mice. Your are getting what you are paying for and if you want something more than what this offers you'll have to look at something more expensive. But for the price of this and how its treated me, I don't regret spending my 15 dollars.

I'm a 3rd year university student and I've finally switched over to having my laptop on a stand + using a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to prevent upper back and neck pain. I love this mouse so far! I have the pastel blue colour (which aesthetically matches my laptop case). It connected very easily to my Macbook Air, and I've had no connectivity issues after turning my laptop or the mouse on and off between use. The scroll button thing feels strange to me with the edges in it, but that's just because I'm used to a smooth button with my old USB mouse. It's also been working great with video games (I've been playing League of Legends with it and I've had no mouse movement issues)! I definitely would recommend having a mousepad–it works a lot smoother with one rather than without. It's nice and round too, so it feels nice to use! Love this mouse, definitely recommend.

it's very nice, The size is good and suitable for laptop users. The tracking speed is good. The clicking sensitivity and scroll is nice. Pairing with laptop was done automatically at the moment I switched it on my laptop detected it and it worked in a few seconds.
