Specifications: How to Set Your Own Password: 1. Use the default password 0000 to open the lock. Please make sure all numbers aligned with the arrows otherwise the lock cannot open. There are some buyers said they cannot open the lock because they have not set the numbers on the exact place. 2. Notice the keyhole is facing up. Turn it to the right to horizontal position (90 degrees). 3. Set numbers to whatever code you want, making sure to keep the numbers aligned with the arrow. And remember your new numbers or write down them. Last, turn the keyhole back to upright position. There are many people forget to turn it back so they cannot successfully set new password or cannot open the lock. It's not going to stop someone with cable cutters, but it's better than nothing. It's easy to transport although the holder that attaches to the bike is cheap and the two that I had both break after about a week. The plastic is too thin. I was able to increase the life by adding some washers where the plastic around the hold for the screw had cracked. I don't expect the holder to last much longer though. Review: Great design, sturdy cable, easy combination system, strong bracket - The cable is strong and well designed. The company sent me a new replacement bracket that is now strong enough to hold the cable (see the before and after images below to see the difference). Here is the background story: The original bracket broke around the screw area after a couple of weeks of use. It was too weak for this cable. The representative of the manufacturer in China contacted me by phone and asked if she could send me a stronger bracket. I agreed, and she kept her promise. The replacement bracket is much stronger. It is the bracket they used exclusively on their 5 foot cable package. They assured me that this stronger bracket is now also being shipped with the new 4 foot cables as well. So now I have changed the rating for this lock system to 5 stars. Since receiving the original cable, we've used the cable on bike trips to lock two bikes at the same time. In my opinion, this combination system is much better than using a key lock. We lose keys like crazy - so this solves that problem. Plus, this combination system is very easy to use. The cable always coils into a small volume - so if you don't want to put it on the bike - just throw it in your backpack. The bracket comes with a rubber pad that lines the inside. The pad size can trimmed to down to allow the bracket to fit on different tube diameters. For the seat tube (not the post) on my Trek, I had to cut the pad in a little less than half length to get the bracket to close properly. For the seat post, I would have probably needed to use the whole pad. The pad provides the adjustment necessary to get thes cable bracket to fit in multiple places around the bike. The cable comes with instructions. Setting the combination is very easy. Put the combination to 0000, pull the cable apart, rotate the set knob 90 degrees clockwise until it clicks, set the combination, turn the set knob 90 degrees counter-clockwise until it clicks - and the combination is complete. I highly recommend this cable lock.

lock is great but the hold will crack
Should be a 5 star product given the price and the quality of the lock. Changeable code, feels strong. The problem is the holder. It is made of a very poor quality plastic and cracks. I bought 2 of these. The first one cracked and I blamed myself thinking that i over tightened it. On the 2nd one, i barely tightened it. It still cracked. And that was on the road. I never took it off the trail. So close to a great product. Sorry.

So far so good
Seems like a sturdy chain, I've had no issues with it so far. Changing the lock code was very easy to do. I use this in coordination with a U-Lock for extra security. I wish it were a little longer to go through both my tires plus frame, it is only long enough to go though one tire plus the frame.

DON'T DO IT!
I'm not one for hyperbole, but this lock is garbage, and if you buy it, you're just throwing away money. The FIRST TIME I used this lock, I had a hard time getting it to close and lock. In the process, I'm guessing I inadvertently reset the combination, because I couldn't get it open, and had to call the Sheriff's Department for help. Chances are, you've researched bike locks, and everything you've read screams to stay away from cable locks. Let me tell you, it was more than disconcerting to watch the Sheriff cut through the cable in 7 seconds. Save the $10 and invest in an expensive, quality lock.

Great choice
Easy to use and came highly rated for safety. I ride my cannondale to work about three days per week, and I needed a lock that was easy to transport, easy to use, and keeps my bike safe. I have so far had no issues with the lock and have used it several times in the last few weeks. Would highly recommend.

Great Lock - Lousy Bracket
I like the way I can hang it on my road bike. That alone makes it better than the others I considered. I really loved this lock - until it broke. The clamp was the problem. The screw that is used to tighten the clamp pulled through the plastic. Now the clamp (which is the best feature) is useless. I'n thinking that I can fix it. We'll see. In the meantime don't tighten the screw too much. I have to change my review. The clamp has continued to be a problem. I fixed it the first time. This time it's unrepairable. Other than that it's a decent product at a low price. It's a shame the bracket breaks because I like the mounting system. They need to think about the type of plastic they're using.

Seems pretty good!
I haven't used it yet, but the lock and cable seem sturdy and should deter thieves. The mount is convenient. The only suggestion I have is to either supply an additional, optional shorter screw and/or a thinner spacer/gasket. My seat post is too large to utilize the spacer and after mounting it to the seat post, the screw sticks out a little further than I'd prefer. It's not a safety concern, but more of an aesthetic preference. I'd recommend this product.
