Hi Gals!
No, boys, I wasn't calling you names. This information should still be of use, just know this isn't a man's review. I'm addressing the ladies that made it this far, searching like I was, back in Aug of 2012. Gals, safety razors are not just for men and they are better for the earth if you care. Whaddaya know, I'm a hippie that shaves... I have a big heavy antique razor (thanks Gramps!) that I love and was using for a half year with great success. BUT, the weighted handle of higher end razors work better for guys I think. If you are a gal trying to shave your legs and nethers in a gym shower braced like a drunk yoga flamingo with one leg against a wall in such a way that the stream of hot water (or hot water bucket!)is accessible but not splashing soap off your intended target, weighted handles don't help, ease of movement does. I posted a similar but modified review for this little guy MERKUR Bakelite Safety Shaving Razor (Model: MK030) , I had purchased it as a travel razor but soon found it way easier to use for my purposes and err...delicate target areas. Ahem. It takes some learning but the journey is worth it. And again, this process is WAAAAAY better for the environment. Plus I don't like giving WalMart my money. *cough THE DEVIL cough* It's February of 2013 (6 months)and I still have about 40 of the 100 blades I purchased in August. I shave my legs every two days in the heat, here in CA that's summer, fall, spring. Every 3-4 days in winter unless I'm training in the wilderness. A cold water shave in the woods is possible with these blades just not as "fun" in 30 degrees (EEP). I really appreciated that there were enough different razors in this pack to test, against each other and on different areas of my person...data is still being collected on which I liked best for where, but this package enabled me to try different combos over a length of time that would give me more accurate testing results (your skin changes with long term use of a particular blade, it's cool like that). Ladyfriends and Mancreatures, safety razors are a cheaper, closer shave once you spend some time learning the process, I've learned to love the art and ritual; it's not a waste of time, it's a personal investment in my awesome frakking legs. The men that are privileged to touch pay compliments, the girls with their overpriced Venus Mach whatevers are jealous and want to learn. Also, while I am tough enough cookie to take the pain of waxing and I love the results, I could still plan an adventure trip for two weeks in Oregon with the money that Brazilian, arms, pitties, and full leg waxing would cost me per year. I feel it's too much to pay for the discomfort of someone politely making small talk about my weekend while they are staring quite closely at my oddly positioned body parts and I am having to resist the urge to punch them in the face for ripping my hair off. PASS. $25 plus the razor cost is going to last me at least 10 months and no one gets to look closely at anything on me until it's smooth and pretty. As a final note, I do not buy the creams and foamy lotions and balms for use with these blades from retail, stuff loaded with nasty chemicals that easily absorb into skin and cause freaking tumors and hormonal unrest. No thanks. I make my own soaps or shaving creams in my kitchen (timesink: a half hour every two months). There, I can load them with stuff that's good for my skin and smells fantastic. Tea, honey, rosewood, argon oil, coconut oil, and bentonite clay are just a few items I use, but there are tons of recipes online. My guy friends beg for my soap, they grow weary of chemically dried and fried skin. If you don't want to spend your time to make soap, I get it; there's emails to be read, beer to drink, and naps to be had. You have compromise options out there. I've used this soap A Wild Soap Bar - Black Willow bark shaving soap ; it works and smells good, it's just cheaper and more customizable for me to make Good Luck and Happy Weedwacking.

Great Variety, Smooth Shaves, and Excellent Value
If you’re new to double‑edge shaving or just want to dial in the perfect blade for your razor and skin type, this variety pack is exactly what you need. With a full assortment of brands—each with its own balance of sharpness, smoothness, and longevity—you get a true side‑by‑side comparison without committing to a single box. The value is outstanding, and the blade selection covers everything from ultra‑sharp to forgiving and beginner‑friendly. The blades arrive individually wrapped, clean, and ready to load into any standard DE safety razor. I appreciated how consistent the quality was across the pack; no duds, no rough edges, and no mystery brands. Whether you prefer a buttery‑smooth glide or a more aggressive edge for coarse hair, there’s something here that will fit your routine perfectly. After testing across several shaves, I found this sampler to be the most cost‑effective way to discover what truly works for my face. It’s also a great option for barbers, wet‑shaving enthusiasts, or anyone who wants to experiment without wasting money. Bottom line: A generous, well‑curated assortment that delivers excellent performance and helps you find your ideal blade match. Highly recommended for both beginners and seasoned shavers.

Best Way to Find Out Which Brand You Like
As a total beginner to wet shaving, I did my research and bought the Mercury razor with a long handle. That by itself is a fantastic, high-quality product. With that order, I have added this variety pack. The description says you get 100 blades of various types and various manufacturers (depending on the availability, you may not receive exactly what is in the picture). I have received most of what is in the picture and more. I counted exactly 110 blades, extra 10 is a nice bonus. I have gone through about half of the brands in my variety pack. Have not yet tried all of them yet, but already know my favorites most likely. As a Czech citizen, I am very glad that a formerly Czech brand (ASTRA) is so great. It is manufactured in Russia now I think (thanks communism), but that's one of my favorites. The other great one I have loved is the 7am brand. Like many reviews have mentioned, a brand that agrees with my skin and facial hair might not work for you. That is the purpose of this pack. Although a higher price than just a 100-pack of one brand, you can truly see what is all out there (obviously you get about 6-7 brands, there are plenty more out there). The one I liked the least (or actually disliked) is the Shark brand. It felt a little dull and the blade seemed smaller. As I said with the razor (Merkur with the longer handle), they all fit, but of all the ones I have tried, the Shark seemed to not reach all the way to the end, making it hard to shave since there was no contact with the skin/facial hair. Definitely would recommend this product for anyone starting with wet shaving (like I did a couple of months ago), or someone looking to explore what other options they might like.

Value Brand Sampler Pack. Solid buy.
Nice little starter pack of blades. Blades are a very personal choice, and what I like or dislike has zero bearing on what you will like or dislike. All blades are roughly around the same level of sharpness within a VERY narrow band, however each blade has a different combination of blade grind, coating, & metal composition. Combine this with your facial features, how you shave, what razor you use, etc it all adds up to you having to find the ones that will work for you through trial and error. Sorry. However, I am confident that out of the blades that are sent you will find at least one of these that will work for you. Me personally, I would't shave with Sharks again if you paid me but I loved TREET Platinum Super Stainless' enough to order 200 more. Right now I'm working on "High End" sampler pack to find my luxury razor to use on weekends. Gillette's, Feathers, Kai's etc And so far, I'm not regretting ordering those 200 TREET's at all. Also, one big caveat if you are just starting out wetshaving. Don't throw away blades you don't like when you're just learning how to use your new razor, put them in the back of the cabinet and pull them out a month or two from now and see what you think. Astra's were a night and day difference for me, I still like my TREET's more, but they give a decent shave and I'll use them all eventually. Something I never would have known if I'd followed my first impulse to throw them in abandoned mine shaft HAHA.

If you're new to wet shaving, try these!
I am never going back to the traditional disposable 19 blade razors that cost $35 for 4 razor heads that last maybe 3 shaves. The price of these blades and how many you get is perfect. I am not going to have to buy blades for quite a long time. I am angry with myself for not switching over to wet shaving years ago. I love all of the blades that are in here so far but have probably had the best luck with the Sharks so far but I am not complaining about any of these blades, they're all great. I am using these blades on a Merkur 34C. If you're not too sure which blades to buy and try out or new to wet shaving, buying this 'sampler pack' will definitely help you figure out which blades you like the most but it will take you a long while to get through all of these blades with how many there are and how much longer they last than the 'normal, expensive way of shaving'. It took me a few shaves to really figure out the best way of holding the razor, angles, pressure, etc. These blades are sharp and definitely get the job done.

Great sample pack guys
This is a great sample pack of DE razor blades. I've tried 3 of the 7 brands that arrived at my door way in advance. The Astra SP so far are my favorite. They are very sharp and only require 2 passes to achieve a BBS shave. This is a perfect way to try many brands out without committing to a bulk buy that you may or may not be happy with. I had been using Derby extra blades previous to this shipment. The derby blades were very forgiving and comfortable but lacked the close shave factor. I am very excited to see where the rest of these blades are going to take me in my venture of finding the closest most comfortable shave. This package is very reasonably priced and I'm sure you get 10 additional blades above the advertised 100. I am a father of two children and my every second day chore of shaving has turned into my every second day ritual Dad time which revitalizes me and gives me my much needed alone time. Its only 15-20 min but most fathers will attest that 15-20 min is heaven if it's spent looking after dad. Cheers guys and happy shaving

Only two great shaves in the sample pack
First, let me describe my beard... I cannot grow a heavy beard and what I do grow comes in coarse but rather sparse and doesn't fill in all the gaps. For instance, I cannot get my mustache area to meet my beard so I always have a mustache and beard instead of a goatee! On my cheeks, the hair is coarse but sparse and it takes at least two days to grow enough to actually make shaving worth doing. My cheek hair mostly grows in one direction but the hair on my neck goes in every conceivable direction making shaving that area a challenge. OK, so I only shave every other day or so and my beard is a mess.. Established. I was looking for a good blade to replace what came with my Merkur 38C and the reviews were all over the place so I decided to try this variety pack. My methodology was as follows: I used a different blade on every shave and threw out the old one. I used Rocky Mountain Barber Company Sandalwood (great stuff) shaving cream with a good quality boar bristle brush, (you know, the ones that stink for the first month or so) and finished with Pinaud Clubman after shave. Each shave was following a hot shower and I rinsed with hot water. I lathered up good and let it sit for a few minutes before each shave. I judged the blades on smoothness and the number of passes required to shave to what I felt was a smooth finish. Only two of these 7 blades made the cut, IMO. For times sake, I'll only reference the good and the bad, starting with: THE BAD CRYSTAL DOUBLE EDGE-HORRIBLE! On my cheeks, it took several passes before I felt that my cheeks were smooth, but it was on my neck where my hair grows in all directions that these blades showed their true, terrible nature. It took multiple passes in multiple directions to remove my neck hairs and I felt pulling and tugging the entire time. I could feel irritation starting and I lathered up several times in an effort to prevent it. Nope. Afterwards, I still didn't feel that my neck was smooth and applying the after shave revealed the irritation! My neck was red and by that night, broken out in numerous shaving bumps, something that did not happen with any of the other blades, not even the cheap blades I bought at the store while awaiting this pack! My neck was irritated for 4-5 days and I could not shave during that time. I will not EVER buy these blades! THE GOOD It was really a toss up between the Voskhod teflon coated blades and the Astra Platinum blades. Both removed my cheek hair in two passes and both removed my neck hair in several passes in multiple directions without irritation. I, like a lot of men do have a mole or two and after shaving with these two blades, still have them! I think, that of the two, the Astra Platinum gave the better shave and much better than the Astra Stainless blade in this pack. NOTABLE The Sharp Chromium and the 7AM Platinum did an OK job, needing at least 3 passes but caused no irritation. The remainder of the blades were not notable in any way... I still want to try the Feather blades and possibly Merkurs blades, but for now, I'm satisfied with the top two in this pack. I hope this helps others who have been wondering what blades to get...

Fabulous value
I am brand new to using a safety razor, coming from disposable cartridges so I was a little overwhelmed when trying to figure out what kind of blade to use since I read that one blade may be perfect for one person and a different blade works better for someone else. I did some research and found this variety pack. Other variety packs had people saying that they were shorted and to check upon delivery. I did that and came up with 105. The reason was that the Sharp stainless blades must have been out of stock and they subbed Sharp hi-chromium Durablades which come in 10-packs instead of 5. They tossed 2 of them in, giving me 5 extra blades. Everything else was exactly as advertised. Some of the other reviews say that all the blades in this sampler are low quality... Well, this is the cheapest sampler pack out there for a reason. If you decided to start shaving with a safety razor to save money, this is a perfect sampler for you. These blades are all inexpensive in a large pack and you get a nice sized sample of each brand. It is nice to have 7 different brands to sample too. I also ordered a higher end sampler, but it was more money for less blades and less selection. This is a fantastic sampler and it is a very good price at 24 cents a blade. I will update when I sample the blades.

Voskhod safety razor by far the best I have used
I have tried a few safety razors before buying this trial pack, mainly to try the Voskhod razor. So far the best safety razor I have used. Absolute smoothness, sharpness, and a very nice shave.
