Any advice on how much coffee, water to use? Thx** A: A good rule of thumb is: 1 TBSP of coffee for every 7 - 8 oz of water. I use about 6 heaping TBSP for a full 1.5L pot, and I find it gives me a very strong, full-flavored coffee. Use more coffee for a stronger brew, and less for a weaker brew. It all comes down to taste. It may take several pots to determine the best combination of water, coffee grounds and brew-time for you. I've been french-pressing for many years, and I still experiment from time to time with proportions. **Q: where are these stainless steal pots made? If in China aren't they know to have pollution in their metal.** A: Considering stainless steel is heated above 1900 during production the rumor of contamination is far fetched. Although in their plastics, and other products they are known to have pollutants including lead. I commend anyone who attempts to not buy Chinese origin products, since the countries dictators are engaged in genocide. **Q: Can this French press heat the water on an induction stovetop?** A: Yes, but I would not recommend it. Better to heat, just before boiling (do not boil) your water in one of your stainless steel pots and then pour the water over the ground beans in the coffee maker. Let the coffee soak in the hot water for four minutes then slowly press. If you were to heat the water directly in the press then you won't have as much control to make sure the water is not boiled and you'll get a better cup of coffee if you pour the hot water over the ground coffee and not already have the coffee in there with water that's changing temperature. Also, you'll get better tasting coffee by putting the coffee in before the hot water as opposed to putting the grounds into a pot of hot water. Don't ask me why but it just turns out better that way. **Q: How many actual cups does it make? I know different companies specify that 5 oz. or 6 oz is considered a cup. Thanks!** A: Holds 50oz.
