For the emperor!
Not a bad way to get started in WH40K. Great for those who are on the fence about investing in the game, as this game is reasonably priced. Nice minis.

Gateway game for the Warhammer Universe
Space Marine Adventures is a fun board game that offers a good blend of strategy, action, and thematic immersion. I bought this game to introduce my son to the Warhammer Universe. It worked, he really liked the game and read a few Warhammer books to get more of the lore.1. Engaging Gameplay:The game is designed to be both exciting and accessible. The mechanics are straightforward, allowing players to quickly grasp the rules and dive into the action. Each mission is filled with tension and excitement, as players work together to overcome challenges and achieve objectives.2. Cooperative Play:One of the game’s strengths is its cooperative nature. Great for playing with your kids so nobody gets stomped. Players must collaborate to succeed, fostering a strong sense of teamwork and camaraderie. This makes it a great choice for family game nights or groups of friends looking for a shared adventure.3. High-Quality Components:The miniatures and game pieces are well-crafted and detailed, adding to the overall immersion. The board and cards are sturdy and visually appealing, with vibrant artwork that captures the essence of the Warhammer 40,000 universe.4. Thematic Immersion:The game does a great job of immersing players in the Warhammer 40,000 setting. The narrative elements and mission objectives are well-integrated, making you feel like you’re part of a larger story. This is especially appealing to fans of the franchise, but even those new to the universe will find it engaging.5. Replayability:With multiple missions and variable objectives, Space Marine Adventures offers a good level of replayability. Each playthrough presents new challenges and strategic decisions, keeping the game fresh and interesting over multiple sessions.Minor Drawbacks:1. Limited Complexity:For more experienced gamers or those looking for a deeply strategic experience, the game might feel a bit simplistic. While the accessibility is a strength, it may leave some players wanting more depth and complexity in the mechanics.2. Setup Time/Minis:The setup process can be a bit time-consuming, especially for new players. Organizing the components and understanding the initial setup instructions requires some patience, but this becomes easier with familiarity. The minis are really cool but require some assembly. They are all colored differently which is nice.Overall, Space Marine Adventures is a highly enjoyable board game that offers a perfect mix of excitement, strategy, and thematic immersion. Its cooperative gameplay and accessible mechanics make it an excellent choice for both fans of the Warhammer 40,000 universe and those new to it. Despite minor drawbacks, it delivers a fun and engaging experience that’s well worth the investment. Highly recommended as a "gateway game" or a first board game for you friends or family.

5 Space Marines
The models are a middle quality and slightly smaller than "primaris astartes" but larger than the old "first born" miniatures. Their individual armor and weapon variety make a good addition to any Space Marine army, particularly as Veterans, two are suitable as Sergeants or Lieutenants (depending how you paint) without modification. As for the box game itself: It's not really an introduction to "Warhammer" game play, but it fun and straightforward for those who have never played before, which is valuable in its own right.

Great price just to grab the minis for a Kill Team
I previously purchased this game from Barnes & Noble when they had exclusive expansion packs, which are unfortunately now out of print. I bought the whole collection back then, and the game itself is entertaining, but nothing amazing. If anything, it's a good introduction to the 40K universe for your friends. Some units are noticeably better than others, but since it's a co-operative experience, I don't mind that much. However, the key here is that this set comes with five Space Marine models that were previously released in the Space Marine Heroes blind box line, and some of them were exclusive to Japan. Those blind boxes sold for about $15, and now resell second hand for between $20-$40 each. Even if you don't plan on playing the board game, this box is a great value to get five of those models. It's just one Tactical Marine short of a full squad for a Kill Team game.

By the Emperor it’s Good!
I picked this up so that I could get my boys into the hobby, and man did it go better than I thought.. I know that this isn’t the game for the hardcore, been in the hobby for 20 years type, but as a starting point for those looking to get into the universe it’s great. Every card has a great bit of narrative and lore that helps to really set the tone of the adventure and the models are just as detailed and fantastic as the table top models you would buy for an actual 40K game.If I had to find a complaint it would be that you only get models for the Space Marines and not the Nekrons; had Games Workshop decided to include the 30 or so Nekron models to represent the enemies in the labyrinth then this game would be an auto-buy for anyone getting into the hobby. As it stands it’s a great place to start, but if you have been in the game for a while you can probably skip this; unless you’re just looking for a fun game night!

Fun game, easy to set up and play
This game is a great stand alone game from games workshop. Very easy to set up and play and is not a "one and done" game. Great to play alone or with friends or kids.

Models are good, game is an afterthought
If you are going to get this game, you are getting it for the models, the game is not that great.
