Can I use a wall switch to control this strip if I wanted to just leave the built in switch in the on position.

This is not true. I installed these with a wall switch dimmer and they flicker when dimming via the wall switch.

I have leftover light strip that I would like to use else where, how do I purchase another end plug in part? Is it hard to do?

You would need another controller, another power supply, and solderless connectors (to convert the LED ribbon to 2-wire). Search Amazon for "LED Strip Light Controller", "LED Solderless Connect Wire" and "LED Power Adapter" to get the components you need.

How long is the wire from the plug to the dimmer/ controller, (not to the light strip)?
