Technically works. (EDITED)
EDIT: So, my dock was damaged in transit and the USB 3.0 port and charging port are finnicky because of it. The rest is absolutely user error on our part. When the dock receives power, you press the switch mode button once as instructed and the dock takes around 15s to enable passthrough.First time setting up I thought the dock was broken, no passthrough to the TV and no blue light to show it was attempting. Using the official wall adapter and with everything other than the dock proven to work, the power port of this dock seems to stop passing power to the Switch as it feels, and obviously kills HDMI passthrough in the process. Working now I have it sat perfectly and set to TV mode so long as I do not wish to move the Switch console or press the button to switch to TV mode. The TV mode button sometimes needs to be clicked once, sometimes twenty times, and sometimes held. It doesn't seem to make any sense, we thought I might have been 5 clicks because that worked twice in a row, then it switched at 17 clicks the next time. Should have paid the premium for another official dock, but it does at least work in a pinch.

A Compact Yet Capable Nintendo Switch Dock
A Compact Yet Capable Nintendo Switch DockThe Ponkor Portable Charging Stand for Nintendo Switch promises to be a versatile and convenient solution for Switch owners who desire a compact docking station. As a gamer, having a reliable and portable dock can enhance your gaming experience, especially when traveling or enjoying multiplayer sessions. However, let's examine both the potential advantages and drawbacks of this product.Positives:1. Portability: One of the standout features of this dock is its compact and lightweight design, making it easy to carry around and travel with your Nintendo Switch setup. This is a significant advantage over the bulky original dock.2. One-Touch Display Conversion: The ability to switch between the console and TV display interface with a single button press is a convenient feature that streamlines the gaming experience.3. Improved Ventilation: By allowing the Switch to sit on top of the unit, this dock ensures proper ventilation and prevents overheating, a common issue with the original dock.4. Charging While Playing: The dock allows you to charge your Nintendo Switch while playing, enabling extended gaming sessions without worrying about battery life.5. Scratch Prevention: Unlike the original dock, this Ponkor stand eliminates the risk of scratching the Switch's screen during the docking and undocking process.6. Extra USB Port: The inclusion of an additional USB 3.0 port provides flexibility for connecting USB controllers or adapters, enhancing the overall gaming experience.Negatives:1. Power Requirements: To charge the Switch while playing on TV mode, you'll need a separate 15V/2.6A power supply, which may not be included with the product.2. Potential Compatibility Issues: While designed for the Nintendo Switch, there is always a slight risk of compatibility issues or performance variations when using third-party accessories.3. Video Quality Concerns: Some users may notice a difference in video quality compared to the original dock, especially when using non-HDMI 2.0a compatible displays.4. Durability and Build Quality: As with any third-party accessory, there may be concerns about the overall durability and build quality compared to official Nintendo products.Overall, the Ponkor Portable Charging Stand for Nintendo Switch offers a compelling solution for gamers seeking a compact and portable docking station. Its portability, one-touch display conversion, improved ventilation, and additional USB port make it a practical choice. However, it's essential to consider the power requirements, potential compatibility issues, and video quality concerns before making a purchasing decision. As with any accessory, exercising caution and monitoring user reviews can help ensure a satisfactory experience.

Well worth it
Bought to connect Switch to a second TV and to travel with. You will need to provide your own HDMI lead and power supply.Initially i used an old HDMI lead i had and a simple USB to USB-C cable to use one of the TV’S USB sockets to power the dock, this did work but the TV playback can be a bit laggy/jerky. I then tried the PSU from a Raspberry Pi 4 that i had, which is 5.1v 3A, and this worked perfectly so the dock definitely runs best with a dedicated PSU but you can use your TV as the power source in a pinch.Pleased with the dock’s small footprint and ease of use, look forward to trying it out when travelling. Also pleased with the £150-ish saving over Nintendo’s spare dock.

Great value
works fine and very light so it can be stores in a suitcase for travelling. Uses a C charger and USB to power so that's great.

Did not last a full year
When it worked it was absolutely brilliant but started playing up about 10 months in and has now completely died at 11 months. Don’t waste your money

Does what it should but...
This unit does exactly what it should and seems to work perfectly. It doesn't automatically switch on the TV when you activate the switch but this may be my TV hdmi2 port rather than the unit but no biggie having to select. The only thing to say is you need a power supply which is additional. If you think the unit will display on TV without it just using the switch battery, it won't.

Great cheap alternative, slightly limited features
Good cheap alternative or option for second dock, would work with switch light as regular Nintendo dock restricts insertion. Is a smaller compact travel size version.Obviously requires HDMI cable, and Type-C power cable to function on TV.Only downside is that my switch ran out of charge whilst playing on TV, therefore limits gameplay time. Also does not boost output compared to the official Nintendo dock, therefore frame rate and internet connection speed can be compromised at times. Console can begin to heat during long periods of gaming; more so than original dock.Online games like Splatoon 2 can be too hot to handle for this small device, and recommend getting the official dock alternative.Overall exactly what was expected from a product such as this one.
