Good, no complaints
The DVD case came brand new & sealed in plastic, and it wasn't chipped, dented, or broken. The disk works, and played without issues, too. Which is exactly what I was hoping for, as sometimes quality can be a hit-or-miss in my experience buying physical copies of DVDs and Blu-rays on amazon. There are other reviews if you want more information on the content/features and episode breakdowns - it's Spongebob season 2, all episodes are family friendly.

Beloved SpongeBob
We continue into the second season of Spongebob SquarePants, with SpongeBob and his friends with their crazy antics, fun, and new adventures, all of the characters from the previous season are here too, Mr. Krabbs is still cheap and having problems with his rival who owns a restaurant across the street from The Krusty Krabb. At times SpongeBob and his friends can be inappropriate but that's what makes them so hilarious to watch and it's done out of innocence and no malice, even though Squidward can be a bit of a jerk at times, I think he ( Squidward ) and other characters show the reality of some people. I.e. Some cheap, kind hearted, intellectuals (Sandy Cheeks ), and people that are the kindest but not the brightest of the bunch ( Patrick ) I think this show is great for children because I believe that they can learn something from it, I know how absurd that sounds, but it teaches morality in so many ways, try watching one or more of the episodes before. Allowing your children to watch it, I'll tell you how much SpongeBob and the others are beloved characters, I remember when I was in high school and we had pajama day ( yes, we did have that going on, lol ) I can't tell you the number of teenagers that had on their SpongeBob SquarePants pajamas on, lol. I think some of them went out and bought their SBSP pajamas just because we were allowed to wear something different on that specific day.

was one of the greatest ever written
This early season, along with 1 and 3, was one of the greatest ever written. It was when there was still a team of writers as opposed to one single writer who is forced to come up with all of the material for every episode. It contains largely iconic episodes. The best thing about season 2 is that it provides the rare window for Patrick Star when he was more of the intelligently-designed 'dumb' character (tantamount to Peter Griffin in the middle seasons of Family Guy). Rather than the slow season 1 or the babbling season 6, season 2 Patrick has quick quips at different points that keep the crowd in stitches. Likewise, Spongebob is still the goofy, lovable character rather than the screaming nuisance that, while still funny at times, the new SB character has become. If you're a diehard fan, you'll probably like this season, 1, and 3. The later seasons attempted to overstep their working formulas, but some still enjoy them, which is great. At the end of the day, I am happy to see the franchise alive and well. Watch this 2000-2001 era season for some good, classic laughs!

Some of the most classic episodes of any TV show ever
Personally, I enjoy the earlier seasons of SpongeBob more because they have so many classic episodes to watch. Season 2 of SpongeBob SquarePants is the pinnacle of classic. I can't tell you how many times I've watched episodes like, "Bubble Buddy", "Wormy", "The Smoking Peanut", "Frankendoodle", "Patty Hype", "The Frycook Games", "The Secret Box", "Band Geeks" (ESPECIALLY!), "Something Smells", "Big Pink Loser", "Pre-Hibernation Week", "Survival of the Idiots", "Shanghaied", "Welcome to the Chum Bucket", and, "Sailor Mouth". Overall fantastic product and is, at least in my eyes, the best season of SpongeBob ever. I would highly recommend to anyone out there, SpongeBob fan or not, to buy this. I'm telling you, you won't be disappointed!

A colorful humorous glance into the life of relentlessly perky sea sponge
The story line to all the seasons centers around what appears to be a sea sponge in his early twenties fighting his way through a world that never ceases to take a advantage of his good nature. From his corrupt miserly boss hell-bent on underpaying his most valuable employee, to his hipster neighbor and co-worker, Squidward, who suffers from depression and relentlessly rejects Spongebob as his equal despite the fact they live in the same neighborhood and hold the same level of employment. Spongebob also never fails to be a constant example charity as he allows his clearly willfully unemployed neighbor, Patrick, to take a advantage of him every turn. This season is much like what comes before it and what follows, always laughter and adventure while teaching the valuable life lesson that joy can be found in a life of perpetual mediocrity and rejection. I give it 5 stars.

Truly, truly... a 5 star performance
In the second installment of the SpongeBob canon, we are thoroughly immersed in a luscious undersea environment, similar to that of other animated visual media such as Disney's Finding Nemo and The Little Mermaid. But what this season, and perhaps what SpongeBob Squarepants, excels at more than any other television show, is a wonderful characterization of its expansive cast.Although the plot at times may be described as simplistic and superfluous to the intent of this style of media, there are many philosophical and moral implications born from the actions of these purely unique characters as they live the life aquatic.Perhaps Season 2, more than any other, warrants analysis through a marxist lens, to truly capture what it is about SpongeBob Squarepants that memorizes generations, lifts our spirits, and enlightens our minds.Truly, truly a 5 star performance
