Turf Builder Weed and Feed 3, 5,000 sq. ft.

I've never used this product before, but I'm glad I found it! My lawn had gotten so full of weeds, I decided to just kill everything with a broad-spectrum vegetation killer and start over. Waited until Fall, then sprayed the lawn, waited 2-3 weeks and sprayed it again to make sure everything was dead. Had to look at bare earth all winter, but it was for the best. This is where I messed up... In the spring, I tilled up the entire area and immediately put down some very expensive grass seed. I've since learned that it's best to till, wait a week or so for the weed seeds you just tilled up to sprout, then spray weed killer again to get rid of all the weeds before putting down grass seed. Having planted the grass seed right after tilling, the number of weeds that sprouted was insane. I didn't have a lawn, I had a huge patch of plantain, clover, Japanese clover, dollar weed, and crabgrass. Some of the grass grew, but it was mostly weeds. I've read a lot of reviews for grass seed that complain about nothing but weeds growing, but their description indicates that they did the same thing I did and planted right after tilling. Anyway... I found this product and followed directions to hopefully kill off the weeds. I knew that I was going to have a lot of bare spots (since I had so many weeds that had crowded out the grass), but I planned to over-seed this fall, anyway. The plantain, dollar weed, and clover started to die within 2 days and were completely gone within a week. The Japanese clover, however, took a while longer to start to die. I was starting to think that I was going to have to re-apply this or a different brand to kill it, but after almost 2 weeks it finally started to wither and has now died off. I do have a lot of areas that need to be re-seeded, but at least the weeds are under control and mostly gone. The crabgrass will have to be treated a different way since this product does not kill actively growing crabgrass, and I'm overseeding this fall so I can't use a pre-emergent next spring, either. The combination of fertilizer and weed killer is great, though, since crabgrass is opportunistic and grows when turf grass is not well-fed or maintained. Hopefully, ensuring the health of the lawn will help prevent crabgrass from taking hold next spring. I'm happy with the results, even though it took longer than I expected for some of the weeds. The biggest difficulty I had was keeping the dog off the treated area for a few days (the info on the bag says no pets/humans for 24 hours, but I erred on the side of caution and waited until it rained before letting her back on the treated area).

Scott Weed & Feed worked very well on my lawn. It helped kill the weeds while also feeding the grass, and I noticed my lawn starting to look greener and healthier after using it. It was easy to apply and covered the yard nicely. I like that it handles two jobs at once, controlling weeds and strengthening the grass. With regular watering and proper application, it really helped improve the overall appearance of my lawn. I would recommend Scott Weed & Feed to anyone looking to get rid of weeds and bring their grass back to life.

Didn’t kill my crab grass or clover but no dandelions and really great fertilizer.

This stuff is amazing! Beautiful dark green bermuda! And so easy to use hose and, aim only where you need it. Got rid of weeds and vigorous growth and green grass

If using the granular version- water your lawn first or apply after a rain. The product needs for the weeds to be wet in order for the granules to stick and kill them. Do NOT water after application for 2-3 days. If it rains, you’ll need to reapply. DO NOT WALK on the yard after you apply- or else you will have burn spots (like many of the posted photos). This means you HAVE TO KEEP TRACK OF WHERE YOU APPLIED the product and not walk on those areas. This may not work on all grasses- read the description.

Beware using the recomended dose from Scotts. I got some chemical burn this year, after following the instructions, that I normally don't get. I read somewhere that Scotts changed the formula that kills weeds, it does seems much stronger then privious formulas they used in the past. Try using less... especialy with a broadcast spreaded that easily overlaps as hard as you try not to! You can always add more later if you need to! 🫤

Very easy to use almost no odor the spray cover the large area my father lives in a double wide trailer that has a large yard around the side and I was able to cover the entire grass area around the trailer. Dispensing was very easy as well as it has a switch on top where you can stop it when you want to take the bottle off and switch it to a different hose. As I just did it yesterday I have not seen any results yet but I'm hoping it will control the weeds and help the grass to revitalize itself

Easy to spray. Covers about 6,000 sq ft. Smells like yard chemicals when you're done. Have used two applications so far and the entire lawn is thicker, grows more evenly, and I can see where the weeds have thinned out. For my yard I'm going with two more treatments. Still cheaper than one from a professional service. It hooks onto your hose and has a lever that flips forward/back to turn on/off. Easy to use. You can shut it off and pick up your hose to keep from spraying chemicals on it. When it empties it makes a clear sound so you can tell it's done. Well worth the money.
