Included teflon tape is useless
The valve itself is good. The included teflon tape is a joke. There was no loose end to unravel it off the spool. I even tried making a slice across the roll with a razor knife and I ended up getting 3 thin strands of it. Tossed it. Didn't even use it and there was no leakage. The other reason I took off 1 star is because when you tighten it you have no control over where the handle ends up. Mine ended up on top instead of to the right where I wanted it. You can't leave it loose to position it where you want and you can't over tighten it to position it where you want. You are stuck with wherever it ends up when it is just tight enough.

Attractive Styling and Effective Flow Stopper
Instead of engaging a plumber to deal with a steady dripping from a shower head and risk losing some precious tile, this stylish shutoff valve was used in conjunction with a stainless hose extension to provide what may not be just a stopgap solution.

Perfect!
Like other reviewers, I got this to stop a leaking shower. It's a substantial leak—several gallons an hour—and this wonderful valve stopped it completely. It took less than a minute to install. I'm delighted. It's solid stainless steel and very well made. I bought an extra just in case, but I don't expect to need it. Unlike other reviewers, I see this as a permanent fix, not just a stopgap until I can pay a plumber several hundred dollars to do what this does for less than 20. The lever is reassuringly stiff but easy enough to move. In the open position the valve doesn't restrict water flow at all, but closed it doesn't let one drop through. Perfect in every way.

Perfect
We had a slide pin type valve before. It was always sticking and very hard to move. This one is working perfectly after nearly a year.
