don't figure the size chart is accurate!
I discovered Surgilast about a year ago, ordered the size 4 and 5. finally bought the size 6, and here's why. I'm chronically ill and spend probably 22 hours a day in bed. I don't have bedsores, but lean on my elbows around the clock. Having a collagen disorder, my elbows started cracking and bleeding a long time ago. When I had my PICC this was helpful, but since the big issue was that my elbows HURT from the cracking and bleeding. I tried using 4x4" gauze saturated with Vanicream (better than Aquafor and other petroleum based creams) along with Solosite, which is a Smith and Nephew product that helps degrade the dead crusty gunky cells on my elbows.I would position the gauze on top of a big gloppy mix of Vanicream and Solosite, and then put two layers of cotton stockinette 6" either side of elbow and put the Surgilast over the whole thing to hold it in place. Problem was that according to their sizing chart, I must be a football player because the size 5 cut off the circulation in my arm it was so tight. I bought the size 6 and am kind of puzzled bc it looks more than double the width of the 5...? But yippy, used it yesterday and it doesn't constrict my blood flow and keeps the stockinette and gauze in place. As a reference my elbow circumference is about 9", bicep is only 10" and the size 6 is just tight enough to hold things in place. There was some slide in the night, but elbow stayed protected.I use this size on the large legs of a friend in a nursing home and she tolerates it for a few hours but then it starts to get uncomfortable, so keep in mind that the elasticity in this product can be uncomfortable. I do DEFINITELY recommend stockinette, avail. on amazon cheap cheap to go under this if you have skin issues. Great product.

Perfect size for my 4 year old BUT
After reading the reviews, I saw one pic with the size chart. I went with size 2 for my 4 year old which is just perfect. It’s gonna be small for adults.25 yards…honestly I have no clues on how much I need. I got one box at the first place thinking it’s gonna last maybe for 3-4 days. Doing 5 times on a toddler legs daily…a box actually only lasted about 1-2 days. I ended up buying a dozen and its all used up within a month. Quantity wise I don’t feel like I m applying 25 yards at all even accounting the stretching.I gave it a 4 star. It works and it fits well.Update as of 01/2022:I reduced it by another star. The shipping by Amazon is a disaster. One order of 4 boxes could come in in 3 different shipments arriving on 3 different days - FedEx, USPS and Amazon. Amazon shipped out earlier but then delayed for a few days. FedEx and USPS shipped out the same time arriving one day early and promptly respectively. The price got jacked up and constantly playing the strategy on low quantities/running out soon but it’s actually always available!

Works as described.
We got this to cover gauze pads and the gauze wrapped around the whole arm that wouldn't stay in place. That part was fine. Trying to figure out the size was almost impossible and different companies have different size groups so comparing them wasn't any help. There is no way this going over a thigh and not a plus size shoulder either. We used it for an elderly man with this arms and it was about 1/2 stretched out. Much more stretching and it would have been too tight and painful to use.

Better than a hospital bandage!
At over 70, I've cut a few fingers. Probably more than most as my hobby is woodworking. Anyhow, got in an argument with my table saw and it won. Nice "chew" at the top of my left thumb. Enough to make the trip to the local Emergency Room. Instructions from the "Doc" included a bandage change daily. Gauze, tape, more tape, gauze wrap and it still wouldn't stay put. Checked Amazon and found the "Surgilast Tubular Elastic Dressing Retainer". Long a** name but it works like a charm. Cut a piece about twice the length of the finger, apply your dressing, etc. and cover with the Surgilast. Stretch the first half and cover the finger, give a twist at the top and run the other half down the finger. A little tape at the bottom and it stays put. Finger still hurts like he** but it's clean, neat and on the mend. Best stuff I've found!

the greatest thing since tape
Oh my stars, this stuff is too good to be true. I have a sensitivity to adhesives, so when a large wound on my leg threatened to derail my busy life this elastic dressing came to my rescue. It comes an inch wide and I thought no way this is going to stretch enough to go over my leg, but it did and was comfortable. I can safely sleep in it. It conforms to any swelling that occurs without shifting. A quick wash in the sink, hang to dry and it is ready for the next dressing change. I have used one cutting for over a month. So, soft as cotton, accommodating, easy care, wears like iron, worth every penny! I think its a must have for every first aid kit, home or office. If you need a pressure dressing, I would use it over the tape, it would keep the tape in place longer instead of the clothes or bedding it might want to rub off in. Not a bad idea when you have children or confused elders that might be tempted to pick at a dressing, they can pick at this and it will softly return to shape. I have 30 years of nursing backing my rarely expressed praise.

It is what it is... does the job
We use this to ensure that wound dressings stay in place. Had a devil of a time trying to get information on how wide this is before it's stretched. Couldn't get a clear answer. If anyone has lost the skew number, this stretch netting -- when unstretched and laying flat - it is 1-1/4" wide. It stretches to about a 15" circumference - or the size of the average calve. It works for now but will need to get one size up for comfort for the patient.

Size 2 Small Arm closer to child sized...
I have road rash on my right forearm and taping the non stick pad was irritating my skin so I purchased this to hold the pad in place without tape. I bought this in a size 2 to for "small arm" as I am a petite adult female and its too tight. The 2 feels like it technically child sized. May get the size 3, possibly the 4
