Great machine
It works great! Hooked up to my printer in a flash. So nice.

product worked for 3 months and gave out
i was so excited about this purchase! everything worked well, until a little less than 3 months after I purchased, the screen stopped responding along the top portion. whatever is causing the screen to stop responding seems to be spreading, and now i canโt even put in my password to access and use the device at all. really frustrating. :(

Peripherals reliability issues... and then it broke 1 month after warranty expired. No signs of life.
It seemed like a fine tablet, and seemed to do the job. I also got the smart keyboard, and the stylus. Well, let's say that, to begin with, the peripherals are sub-par, the keyboard stopped functioning just 6 months after purchase, and the stylus after a year (11 months to be exact). Both Microsoft. And now, after just 25 months, yes, ironic huh? 1 month after warranty expired, the tablet will not power up. It will not respond to a hard reset, it will not say peep, just no reaction whatsoever. I expect computers to just work, flawlessly, for at least three years, which has been the case with every Dell Latitude I've owned, with one of them going into 6 years with great performance. I got carried away with the whole Tablet craze, and they just don't seem to be as reliable as the good old laptops.

Works great as a sheet music reader
I bought a used version of this Surface Pro mainly to read sheet music, and it does the job with Acrobat Reader. I especially like that you can use it in all directions, including having the Windows logo on top, and the OS will properly re-orient itself so it can be used while plugged in. Waking it up from sleep mode takes about 3 seconds, which is fine. A few drawbacks: - its battery life is not that great--compared to the iPad, this device does a poor job conserving power. - it does not keep time while it's asleep--you have to connect to the internet to have it synced properly. - it sometimes detects taps as a click + drag, but this can be remedied by tapping lightly - typing on the keyboard cover feels too "bouncy" Overall, I wouldn't recommend it as a laptop replacement, but it is good enough as a portable tablet.

Great tablet/laptop replacement
Great tablet/laptop replacement. At last one tablet that has some use. I used ipads, and adroid tablets before. Those are good for just web surfing. This is a multi use device.Great job Microsoft!

Cool Tablet
Really like the Pro 3, the battery life sucks though, and the charging cable won't tell you when it's charged. and don't forget you will need to spend about 100$ in extras like the keyboard, pen, case ETC,

I would buy this for an enemy.
IF YOU WANT TO BE MORE FRUSTRATED THAN YOU'VE EVER BEEN IN YOUR LIFE, THEN THIS IS THE PRODUCT FOR YOU! This is the worst piece of technology I have ever owned. When you try to type, it won't type or you have to flip the screen from vertical to horizontal to do some things then back again to do others. Plus, while your typing, the cursor jumps all over the place including switching tabs and going to other websites that are on the task bar...even while you're not touching the screen. It's like it's possessed. Part of the time you can use your finger and part of the time you can only use the pen. There is no reason why this should happen, but you basically have to hold the pen the whole time because you never know when your finger just won't work. And forget about using a keyboard. That's not going to happen. Don't buy this unless you have unlimited time to look up something on the internet or type a report... You're going to need it. The only positive thing that has come from owning this is that I have invented curse words that didn't exist before and I got to buy a pretty cover.

So... I have had 4 ipads and ...
So... I have had 4 ipads and never broken one. My daughter broke one and it cost me $100 to repair. Dropped this and it cost me $450 to replace because you can't repair it. Auxillary equipment doesn't connect that well and installed hardware will stop working sporadically and need to be repaired. Not the computer/pad alternative I hoped it was.
