A: Sprinkle the bait around the area were the ants are in the exterior of the house.  Ants must have water, and they also forage, so if the bait is up near the base of the exterior wall, they will find it.  It takes only one ant to come across the bait to alert all the other ants to come and then take it back to feed the whole colony, which then solves your ant problem.

**Q: Is it necessary using #1 ant killer brand in America to keep your pooch indoors while putting down around house?**
A: I have 2 dogs and never had an issue. But if you think your dog may be inclined to eat it then i would avoid putting it within their reach. In my experience the pellets last for several days

Honestly, I don't recall what product I was using before...some white powder. I'd sprinkle it down and the ants would "disappear" only to see a new hill pop up a few feet away a couple of days later. Then I ordered Amdro. Ok, everyone, this stuff works! Not only can you physically watch the ants grab the granules and take them down the hole but the ants actually die. I even saw some dead ants near the opening a few days after I applied the bait. AND no new ant hills popped up the next day, the next week or month. I think 2-3 months went by before I saw a new ant hill. A little product goes a long way so I won't need more for quite a while, but when I do, I'm ordering this ant killer again!
