This adapter is great for allowing a 'Boomer' like me to use a full sized SD card, rather than the inconveniently located micro-SD card.The adapter locked into my Ender 3v2 micro-SD slot perfectly and the full sized SD slot is spring loaded and locking. I am using Jyers firmware, so the Ender re-mounts the SD card any time you enter the 'Print' menu; no worries about swapping the card in and out while powered on.I have the adapter mounted on my Ender with an external mount, as shown in my picture. So I don't wear out the microsd card mechanism for my ender 3 pro printer i have this permanently connected. 3D printed a mount for it as well.

This product is to use SD cards with micro SD card readers. Useful for Bambu printers if you're worried about constantly taking out the micro SD card in it and wearing out the reader, as that can be an issue with the printers. Have had some misreads in the beginning, but once I replugged it in and didn't move it I didn't have issues. Would recommend securing this down with some tape or a 3d printed enclosure though

Sometimes bad Amazon reviews aren't accurate if the most helpful and critical reviews are years old; not in this case. I took a chance and ordered this extension to see if I would get a working model with my Ender 3 Pro and it worked okay the first time I inserted it into the upgraded 4.2.7 board. But true to the reviews, it does NOT lock into the slot, and it does not make firm contact with the board contacts and could not see my SD/Micro SD cards. Even if I held it in place with my hand or jiggled it a bit, there's no way that I'm going to trust this device to stay connected to my printer during a 6+ hour build! If the cable even nudges a millimeter then it drops the connection. Too bad there aren't many other options out there, but at this point, it's probably worth just using Micro SD cards in the machine and if the board ever breaks, then I can just replace the motherboard for about $30, and at least I know that the part works. I do NOT recommend ordering this extension, steer clear of this product!

If you have a 3D printer with a micro SD slot, you know how aggravating it is to try to get the card in and out of it.I have had this card reader on my machine for over a year now, and it has been one of the best upgrades that I have made to my machine; print a mounting bracket for it, and make it simple to insert and remove the SD card. Get an SD card reader for your computer, and buy an extra card, and you have a quick and easy way to transfer files.

Was hoping by removing the sd card from this it would eliminate the need to remove the adapter from the device it was plugged into but it did not. Also after multiple uses the ribbon cable end would not longer sty in the device as its a bit thin and the locking tab wore out.

I have a car dvr that is attached to my rear view mirror and the tf card goes into the top of the device and I would always have to pull my rear view mirror down to place the card in and out. This device here allows me to remove and replace the card as needed without having to reposition the rearview mirror. Actually I was kind of surprised it would work for this since it was primarily designed for usage with 3d printers. I have a 3d printer and it works for that as well. The price is very affordable and this item is a great way to overcome dealing with small tf cards by using it with an sd card...or better yet you can use an sd card. Worth the purchase.

There were some comments that this unit didn't work on their printer. I have an Ender 5 Pro with a 4.2.7 control board and the unit snaps into the Micro SD slot and stays attached. It can be read by the control board and I was able to print something with this setup. I plan on searching through the prints in Thingiverse.com and printing out a holder for the extender.If you have a different control board each as a Micro SD reader and it could be different from mine. They should all be the same but some other buyers have had problems.I'll update this once I find and print a holder.
