Totally worth the purchase. Does exactly what I expected it to do.
Fits the space perfectly, and does a decent job of blocking some noise, and absorbing some noise. I hung it on a curtain rod to cover an opening to my studio area. It certainly does not completely block the sound from coming in or going out, but it does noticeably help a little. Didn’t stink too bad, though was a little musty. That will go away though, over time. Quality and thickness were great, as expected. Looks nice too. Matches the black acoustic foam panels.

EDIT: Replacement blanket is 5 stars
Edit2: Final review 5 stars. New, replacement blanket is in perfect condition. It seems obvious the first one I got was defective and the seller made it right by sending me a replacement. These blankets work great for sound deadening! Very happy with the replacement blanket and with the seller's customer service. Edit: Changing to 3 stars for now due to speedy resolution from seller. I contacted the seller and they are sending me a replacement blanket, after sending pictures they said the one I received must have been one that slipped through their quality control checks. I will report back on how the new blanket compares to the original one and if it is not damaged I will change my review to 5 stars. Original Review: Blanket was delivered wrapped in sealed plastic, but the blanket itself was either highly damaged or clearly used. There are tears, worn areas, and places where the insulation is coming out of tears in the fabric. My theory is that this company is buying USED moving blankets, adding grommets, and re-selling them as NEW sound dampening blankets! Maybe I just got a damaged one? I'm going to contact the company and see what they say, if they provide a solution I'll update this review, otherwise Buyer Beware! The blanket, if it was not clearly used and/or damaged would get 5 stars from me, is is very thick, heavy, and blocks sound from a doorway decently well, but for the high price I should not get something that is damaged or USED!

Best Acoustic Blanket On Amazon!
There's all sorts of questionable quality stuff on Amazon these days, especially when you're talking cinematography stuff. Fortunately there's some gems on Amazon too and this blanket, which is entirely made in the USA, is one of them. There's not much to say or expect from these other than they're nice and heavy and DARK. All parts are sewed nicely, the clasps are conveniently and evenly placed, there's no weird smell coming off them, and they truly do work in minimizing reverb/echo and blocking some sound. It should be noted that to truly block sound, you need something thicc and heavy to block it like mass loaded vinyl and there are blankets out there that have said MLV. But if you just need to minimize sound and echo or need something to black out a light source, this is the best you can get on Amazon. Never thought I'd be excited to buy blankets of any sort but I legit cannot wait to get a few more of these heavy bois to see what additional acoustic deadening magic they provide when all four walls are covered in them. Thanks for making an awesome product and at a price that's more affordable and higher quality than everyone else.

Impressive Sound Dampening but Less Than Optimal Build Quality
I bought 3 of these blankets to use as soundproofing to hang over a closed door since I'm a content creator. Since these are so big, I had to fold these in half to fit only over the doorway which basically doubled up the sound proofing capabilities so bear that in mind when I tell you how they performed. They performed extremely well! The change went from being able to hear me perfectly on the other side of the door to only being able to hear the low bass notes but not able to make out what I'm saying. HOWEVER, remember that I used 3 blankets folded in half thus (presumably) doubling its capabilities. Also, I did not soundproof the walls so that may be where the bass sounds are leaking out from and not the doorway. To be honest, I have no idea. More testing is needed. Regardless, I recommend buying these since there's really no harm due to the return policy. If you find it doesn't work, then just return it and get your money back. But in my opinion, it'll (most likely) suit your needs. Also, regarding the comments other people have made with build quality and smell. All three of mine did NOT smell weird however all three of mine did come with some fabric still inside a few grommets. I had to manually rip them out in order to use the grommets. Would have been five stars if I didn't have to do this. All in all, pretty impressed and glad I didn't waste my money. I'll add photos and videos eventually.

Good for price, works, heavy, large, need quality other tools to use probperly
Very heavy duty, great for noise reduction, definitely need strong hooks to carry its weight. A little hard to clean if it get dirty

Nice and thick, solid grommets (along 2 edges)
I hung these over the walls in my bands wood-framed, unfinished practice space with these to cut down on high frequency reflections. The grommets are great for that - though they are pretty widely spaced, and only along two adjacent edges - so you can hang it from hooks along the long or short edge. But the opposite edges don’t have grommets. This was a problem for me because I wanted to be able to get a blanket out of the way (eg to access shelves behind it) by folding it in half, putting the bottom edge of the blanket on the same hooks the tops already on, then using a strap or two to bundle them up there - kind of like furling a sail on a yard on a tall ship. I can still tie it up with straps, but the straps will have to support the full weight of the blanket.

Works as Advertised
A mixed bag, depending on your demographics. My experience is that the foams only seem to attenuate incoming sound (make it more localized so you know what to block) but these blankets work to ameliorate the incoming sound (absorb some noise). In other words, it does what it says it does, with a caveat. For apartment dwellers trying to block sound on a connecting wall that seems to be really thin, these may not be the best solution IMO Let me try and explain in my words. Within 6 feet of a blanketed wall, no matter how localized the sound is, the entire blanket absorbs the sound, sort of like a lake with ripples, and appears like a wall of sound. The farther past 6 feet from the blanketed wall you get, the more you can notice that sound is actually being absorbed, and the sound has been dampened significantly. If you put a blanket on an apartment connecting wall, and then place a recliner or bed directly up to the blanketed wall, it may seem like the blanket does nothing at all and perhaps makes the sound worse. HOWEVER. If you are in a house, where neighbors are at least 20 feet away with a high pitch noise maker they mount on their wall (it's marketed as a prank but is always used criminally) these blankets will make a difference. These blankets will not block the sound. Heck, 2-pound MLV may not entirely block it. These 14-pound blankets are only marketed with an NRC, and they actually work as advertised.

Cargo Control Blankets have cheapened to the point of garbage
I bought this same blanket in 2024 and liked it for the thickness - the one I received today is noticeably thinner, lighter and with much less filling. Either it is a counterfeit blanket or Cargo Control has seriously dropped their manufacturing standards. The blanket also had many creases on it, suggesting it may have been used and was not new merchandise. I ordered a replacement, so I'll see if the one I received was defective or their goods are low-quality now. See pics comparing the 2024 (bottom) & 2026 (top) blankets.

Just WOW
A++++ Just buy it. I bought this based on a video review that one guy has left here! Just wow! It really reduces the sounds. I bought this for my furnace room, I had a room next to my furnace room, however was not able to rent it for the loud sounds of the furnace! After adding hanging this on the wall, lol! I can barely hear the furnace! I think I will buy another one for my laundry room, as I have a guest house and my machines work night to morning to wash stuff, in order to kill the sounds, that would be a good option!

These make a huge difference in dampening sound.
The Apple phone doesn't give these blankets enough justice in the recording. In person it it's absolutely incredible the decrease in sound if these blankets are used correctly. I have two hung over my door frame. One folded in half, the other just hanging normally over the other one. It even stops my subwoofer system by about 25% from right outside my door. About 4 meters from the system to my door. For those who don't know low rumbling noise, like an exhaust or subwoofer are really hard to block out so i was very impressed with that on it's own. Oh and did i add i don't even have a door on my door frame!! Just these two blankets. And for those who are curious next to my Sony entertainment system it was about 82 decibel's right next to it outside the room It went down to 50 decibel's as shown in the video, (of course having the two blankets hung.) And i was only an arms length away from the room which is a very dramatic decrease for just using two of these blankets. overall 10/10. I highly recommend at least 2 minimum over a door for the best result, make sure to also fold them in half for double the effectiveness, as they're big enough to do so for majority of doors. And don't have gaps around the blankets! Any gaps air can get through sound can just as easily!
