Key to Understanding your Soul's Potential and Mission for this lifetime
Belongs in your Astrology book collection! Jan Spiller does a excellent job at describing, in-depth, the drives and characteristics associated with our north nodes. I would describe our north node as our life purpose, and soul's potential, whereas the south node is our soul's pattern, patterns that we are use to, that are familiar to us, that can help or hinder us in this lifetime. Jan focuses, not so much on the past issues of south node, but on the potential of our north node. It is astonishing when you read about yourself and the people in your life, your boss, your best friend, your husband. It sheds light on their shadow self, and on the side of them that is yearning to be free from the past to reach full potential. It helped me to be more compassionate with people that I once could not understand, or that were downright maddening. Now, I use the knowledge of their north node to encourage their soul's potential, (as well as my own). While it does touch on house placements, it is concise and accurate and very useful in promoting understanding and compassion.

Find Out What Enhances and Detracts From Your Life Purpose
"The sign in which the North Node falls denotes the psychological shift that need to occur within the personality. The house containing the North Node shows the experiences that allow the person to access this new psychological awareness...The South Node position in a chart (located at the point exactly opposite of the North Node) depicts an aspect in our character that has been overemphasized in past lives, and thus tends to take over the personality in this lifetime and throw us off balance. When we are acting without awareness, we tend to 'act out' the South Node position in response to our environment because we have been accustomed to that approach working to our advantage. However, in this lifetime, our experiences show us that approaching a situation from the stance shown by the position of the Southern Node of our chart is no longer working..." -- Jan Spiller in Astrology For The Soul In her book Astrology for the Soul, astrologer Jan Spiller shows you the key to discovering your hidden talents, deepest desires, and the ways to avoid negative influences that may distract you from achieving your true life purpose, as revealed by the North Node of the Moon in your natal astrological chart. Although Spiller mostly uses the term North Node, she takes into consideration that the North Node exists in polarity with the South Node--and how they both manifest in our attitude, personality, and drive. To discover your North Node, you need to generate a chart. You can do this by going to Astro.com Once you enter the birth time, date, and place a chart will be generated. Chart Drawing, Ascendant is where generated charts are stored. To find your North Node (NN) look for the glyph (symbol) that looks like a horseshow with curlicues on the end. The South Node (NN) will be in the House directly opposite the North Node, although it won't be pictured. The symbol for the SN is an inversion of the NN glyph. You also can also find your NN placement by gettng software like Mapping Your Birthchart. In Astrology For The Soul each of the 12 Nodal positions are examined in areas like: *Attributes to develop *What these people really want *Talents/Profession *Healing Affirmations *Personality *Needs *Relationships *Goals *Healing theme songs Here is a small sample of Attributes to Develop for each of the 12 Nodal positions as described in this book: Aries - Independence, trusting one's impulses, and self-nurturance Taurus - Honoring expressed needs of self and others, forgiveness, and gratitude. Gemini - Tact, logic, and listening. Cancer - Empathy, humility, and accepting others flaws without judgment. Leo - Individuality, self-confidence, and enthusiasm. Virgo - Moderation, creating routines, and taking risks in spite of fears. Libra - Cooperation, seeing through another's eyes, creating win/win situations. Scorpio - Self-discipline, choosing constructive change, and enjoying high-risk situations. Sagittarius - Patience, speaking from Higher Consciousness, and intuitive listening. Capricorn - Self-control, self-respect, and letting go of the past. Aquarius - Objectivity, desire for friendship, and active participation in groups. Pisces - Compassion, surrending anxiety to a Higher Power, and welcoming change. I highly recommend this informative book for releasing negative life patterns, embracing your strengths, and living a more centered and self-directed life.

Best book about figuring out what you should be doing both this week and this century is right here. Simple/Accurate
I am not an astrologer. I have no idea how she can tell us by a chart that takes a year or 2 at a time to tell us which sign our nodes are in. Im a scorpio whose north node happens to also be in scorpio. But...the way she does it ,your node can just as easily be in Airies, taurus,etc.... I dont even remember what a node is, but I can tell you I learned more about myself thru Jans book than all the psychology profiles I took and self help books I read on 'achieving your dreams.." Im just sorry i put it away after reading it just once or twice, several years ago. I just foud it again tonight and I will be up with it all night! -) My suggestion on how to use this book. BOTH WAYS! #1-Read the chapter9s_ that relate tyo your sign and see how it can help you change your life or enhance it. And dont be afraid to say this is me...but thats not me at all." I doubt without knowing your time of birth can she get close to doing that. Nex......#2- READ THRU THE ENTIRE BOOK AND PRETEND THE WHOLE BOOK IS ABOUT YOU BUT .......................use 2 color ink pens and a highlighter. The traits and probabilities of certain things that either logicaly ring true for you or intuitively give you a "hit" and your mouth falls open, underline that paragraph, highlight it and write the page on the inside back cover. The suggestions or scenarios you never thought about but sound like this "could" be you, could be the path you've never considered much or where something draws you to it, juts underline it in a regular color pen and also write the page number in the back cover but on the bottom half of the book. When finished with the whole book, go back to the pages you listed in the back and play with them, study them and enjoy the new changes your life will take. You can use this book as a "possibility guide" if you don't believe in astrology, as the things that are true for you are going to pop out at you regardless of what node or sign they are meant for. Sometimes you grew up with someone of a certain node/sign/trait and their characteristics rubbed off on you. Or.....your birth certificate is incorrect, or, or ,or..........explore and just have a ball with it. Anyone interested in starting a club where they would buy her software or further books and we can meet in a google group once a week to see how this book is changing our life. YOU DEFINITELY DONT WANT TO JUST READ IT AND PUT IT AWAY AS I DID. BIG WASTE! 5 stars.

Well organized, easy to follow
Overall, I liked this book. It is clear, easy to follow and well put together. You know exactly what you are getting, what you are looking for, and where to find it. The opposite of Elizabeth Spring's North Node Astrology book which is good for it's psychological approach, but takes 165 pages to get to the discussions of the North Node. Each section in Spiller's book contains an overview, attributes to develop, tendencies to leave behind, the achilles heel or trap to avoid, what people with this North Node really want, talents/profession, healing affirmations, personality, needs, relationships, goals, and a healing theme song. Every sign gets about 30-40 pages, so you're getting a good amount of info related to your specific sign. Be aware that if you are new to astrology, you need to know what sign rules each house so that you can check both your North Node sign and the house that your North Node falls in. Spiller goes through each "tendency to avoid" and details what our past lives were like and why we need to release those traits in order to be happy and fulfilled in this lifetime. She is clear and specific and gives useful examples. She explains what gifts these past lives give us that we can use today (kind of like good karma in the bank that we can use to carry out our life purpose). For me, I had trouble with the book but only because of my actual North and South Node placements. I have the unusual circumstance of having my North Node in the house of my South Node. I'm a libra rising with a North Node in Libra in the house ruled by Aries. So, 80% of the things Spiller discusses about the shadow side of having an Aries South Node didn't apply to me. In fact, I related more to the North Node in Aries/Libra South Node because my tendency is to be too aware of other people and their needs and to put their feelings above my own (rather than the description of the North Node Libra which is a person who tends to be self absorbed and demanding and needs to learn cooperation and listening skills). There were a few traits in my North Node section that did apply to me, but the majority didn't, so I have to assume my house placement takes more precedent than my North Node position at this time in my life if I am to make use of this book. So, I think Astrology for the Soul is great for most people and I can use it in the charts of friends and clients, but for those of us that have a North Node in the house of our South Node, things get quite murky. You've got to sift through both chapters to figure out where you are and which tendencies actually apply to you and which don't. This is the only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5. There's no clear sense of how to deal with this situation.

Radically Life Empowering
Just bought the book today, began reading the house position for my North Node. Unbelievable & radically life-changing!! The descriptions are eerily accurate & the advice for each issue is far better than an expensive Vedic Astrology reading by a professional or a licensed life-coach! It even gives amazing accurate love & relationship advice. All in all, I am thoroughly amazed, pleased, and can't wait to empower my family, friends, and clients with this new knowledge~!! This author really knows what they are talking about!! If you are confused, stuck, just can't seem to make progress despite all of your longterm efforts, have tried everything, this book is worth a try! I feel like I now know EXACTLY HOW to address my issues, and EXACTLY WHERE I should keep my focus to get better results. I want to send a heartfelt thank you to the author & the publishing team for putting together such a wonderful book. ((( Namaste )))
