much better then lonely planet guide, read certain sections a few times and it will be difficult to decide which way to go, at this point am leaning to have it all organized before leaving

I had difficulty finding a guide for Botswana and this one addressed the areas I will be visiting. It was very good with health information and did provide a general overview of the information needed before visiting this area in Africa. It is not as good as a Fodor's guide but met my needs. I would recommend this guide to anyone planning a trip to Botswana. I was disappointed that the camps I am staying at were not included in this guide.

I have personally been on safari in The Okavango Delta so can appreciate this guide. I wish I had it with me. Robert

This seems like a book for someone that wants to take a self guided safari. Great for that, but not necessary if you are just going on safari with a tour group.

Not knowing east-west-north-south about Botswana, the Guide is good for this first timer to Africa safari... especially as a reference source along the way. Our safari operator set up the camps, days, a long time ago. So, comparing the where to stay and how to get there was not meaningful to me. Each region has its own uniqueness. Good to compare what I was seeing myself for the first time to what was written.

Very informative guide book. Gives info other guide books don't.

This is a good preparatory book for going on safari in Botswana. I think that the author spends far too much time going over the dangers of safari, but for background on the areas we planned to visit, it was useful.

This is the only guide entirely dedicated to Botzwana. I used only to understand where to go, not to organize the trip by myself, but guide was very useful and detailed.

Excellent guide book well worth the investment if you're heading off road in Botswana (pretty much everywhere!) I had the original the first time I went and so for my next trip it felt like an update was in order. Things change and it's important to know when you're remote. It's text heavy and there aren't that many pictures, so be prepared for a fully informative, fluff free read. Highly recommended purchase alongside the latest 'Tracks for Africa' software.

Estaba dudando entre ésta y la LP pero leí en mucho foros que para Botswana la Bradt era mejor. No he visto la otra pero esta guía es muy completa, te da muchos consejos prácticos, información sobre la historia y la naturaleza del país y se nota que está escrita por alguien que lo conoce bien. Lo único que me parece un poco raro y que no estoy acostumbrada es que tiene anuncios de agencias de safaris en el interior. Por lo demás, me está gustando mucho.

Der Bradt-Reiseführer Botswana ist einer der besten Reiseführer für Selbstfahrer in Botswana. Er ist sehr gründlich recherchiert und enthält viele nützliche Hintergrundinformationen. Die Ausgabe von 2010 hat uns wertvolle Dienste geleistet.Es ist begrüßenswert, dass der Verlag 2014 die Neuauflage des Buchs als E-Book anbietet. Wir haben sowieso ein Ipad dabei und sparen so das Gewicht der Papierausgabe. Leider ist die Umwandlung in ein Kindle-E-Book sehr lieblos umgesetzt worden. Es fehlen die Karten des Reiseführers, die aber ein unverzichtbarer Bestandteil sind. Zum Glück bietet Amazon eine schnelle und unkomplizierte Rücknahme von Kindle-Büchern.
