Does this replace the alpha amylase? or the Beta Amylase?

My husband uses alpha amylase to convert starch to fermentable sugars. He uses glucoamylase to further convert the starches that were not converted by the alpha amylase. His experience/use is for distilling, and he has never used beta amylase. He has also been experimenting using alpha amylase in bread making.
