Thinking Cleaner is a replacement faceplate for your Roomba 500 or 600 with embedded WiFi and CPU module, that will make your automated vacuum experience even better! Not only does Thinking Cleaner add WiFi to your Roomba, it also enables you to make use of a much more advanced remote control using our special free app. Available for iOS and Android or through our web based apps for other platforms. The app allows you to control multiple Roomba devices easily; simply swipe between them. If you have an internet connection, you can control your Roomba from anywhere in the world. Setting up schedules is easy, even on Roomba's without a scheduler, up to 4 schedules per day per Roomba! Furthermore, using Thinking Cleaner, your Roomba can start cleaning automatically when you leave the house using a special technique called geofencing. This way, your house will be cleaned when you are away, so you will always come home to a clean house. Our app can send you notifications from your Roomba, regarding different status changes such as when your Roomba starts or stops cleaning, warnings, errors and when you should check your bin. Thinking Cleaner adds an additional feature to your Roomba called 'Max clean' for cleaning large rooms. It is easy to link to your home automation system (plugins and API available) and we are ready for future enhancements and features using over the air firmware updates. Supported languages: English, Dutch, German, Portugese and in the near future Spanish and French. Package contents: - New Robot Gray faceplate with Thinking Cleaner module inside - installation manual on the packaging; online manual available for more information. The installation is a breeze. The setup with a computer and then on an iPhone was a little choppy (the iPhone took creating an account and then logging in to find the iRobot). It works as described with many options that aren't available on our "base" model the 645. It sometimes does not communicate with the app when I am off of my local network. I am still trying to find the reason for this. Other than that, no issues and a handy upgrade for a rather plain "robot".

It works! Shortens runtime maybe 10+% but it's fun to use. I was hoping to get access to more diagnostics via the smartphone but the web client does have some useful additions.I had a little trouble getting it linked to my network so I did a complete reset. Had to disconnect the Roomba battery.

New life for an old Roomba.
Worked well in our 560 and the machine is like a new Roomba when combined with the 700 series brush assembly. Now we can schedule a cleaning when we are not home and not have to listen to it rumble around. Our house is pretty complicated with small rooms and it had some trouble making it to the dock when doing multiple rooms, now I can remotely send it back to charge when it has about 30% and it always makes it to the dock. When its charged again it sends me a text and I can send it out again. Great upgrade.

Makes the roomba MUCH more useful
I bought this strait from Thinking Bits before it was avalible on Amazon. Took a while to get it that way, but it was worth it. This device makes my roomba MUCH more useful. Before scheduling the roomba was extreamly tedious, and I'd tend to forget to empty the bin. Now I can simply schedule it from the app, and it automatically starts after I leave for work. It tells me when the bin is full, and if the Roomba gets stuck on something. In the later case, it even helps you find it.All the features work on lower end roomba's as well that don't have sceduling built in or the command center. The wifi app actually works better than the command center or IR remote as it has porportinal steering control.Pros:Much easyer to scheduleGives alerts if your Roomba needs human helphas all the features of the expensive command center and moreCons:802.11G onlyControls can be laggy when not on the local networkNo homekit compatability

Works Perfectly!
Works exactly as described!Set-up took a few minutes, and after that, was able to start Roomba vacuuming via my phone, and received notifications.I like the stats in the app too (totally distance travelled, total time cleaning etc).I haven't noticed any discernible difference in battery life for the Roomba, but I have a small apartment this is cleaned in about 45 minutes anyway, and according to the app, Roomba never gets below 80% battery.I also have an amazon echo, and followed the instructions on ThinkingCleaner's website to set up voice controls. So now, I just say 'Alexa, Trigger Roomba', and off it goes!I note some other reviewers have had difficulties with this device, and I presume some of this has been fixed up by some recent firmware and app updates. One issue I ran into was that during set-up, I put my wifi passcode in incorrectly, and the device didn't seem to notice, and turned itself out of 'set-up mode'. This meant it was not able to connect to my phone for set-up, and was also not connected to the wifi, so I had to hold down the 'spot' button for 20 seconds, to reset it and start again. Even so, it was a fairly painless process.I actually have a Roomba 780, which is not directly compatible with the faceplate, and followed the instructions on the ThinkingCleaner website for the DIY fitting solution here: [...]This involves basically destroying the faceplate to remove the electronics (I used a stanley knife to cut out a square around the electronics, and then prized the electronics off this piece of plastic afterwards), and then I ordered a new faceplate for the 780 from a 3d printing website for about $5. The design file is supplied with he DIY instructions, I used 3dhubs.com. Just upload the file, choose the printer, and it arrived in the post a few days later.Obviously a bit more fiddly than if you have a Roomba that is compatible out of the box, but still relatively straightforward for even someone like me who has not built or tinkered with anything before. The DIY fitting solution took maybe 30 minutes or so, after I had received the 3d printed faceplate.

this will give you a better experience on the app
Have been using ThinkingCleaner for a few years now, I recently added a second 650 to my house and got second one as well. The generic API works really well and it is fully integrated on my Home Automation system. Tip: Create an account on the app to upgrade firmware, this will give you a better experience on the app. I totallyy recommend this product.
