I am using this to add dedicated USB "lanes/controllers" for a PC that is used to record multitrack audio. This card allows each connected device to use the full USB bandwidth across each device plugged into it. For example, one slot is the Multi Channel Audio Interface, the next port is from the guitar pedalboard, the next for other guitar pedalboard, the next from the drums, etc. Before I installed this, my recording software would record "glitches" during larger multi track recording (28 stereo recording channels/56 channels is what I tested). Now, no glitches as each USB's channel bandwidth is dedicated to each device. Most USB Audio Interfaces are USB 2.0, so they say you can get 480mps out of each USB "channel." Well, when you try recording multiple audio tracks, you will hit that limit pretty quickly. This allows some "headroom" and no longer have multiple devices all vying for that 480mps limit. Each device can now use the "full" 480mpbs bandwidth of the USB "lane/channel." Please keep in mind that this is a USB 3.0 card, so the bandwidth is much higher when using USB 3.0 devices. A little expensive. - I have an older PC with a lot of built in USB 2.0 ports. However, it does not have any USB 3.0 ports. I needed some USB 3.0 ports to connect with some external USB hard disks that I use for backups. Backups are large, so this is important. After installing this USB 3.0 card, my backups were running about 4 or 5 times faster! One very important thing about this USB 3.0 card is that processing power is not shared by the 4 ports. Each port has FULL4 USB 3.0 processing power. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A fine USB *by B***T on July 5, 2017* I have this installed on an ASUS ROG Maximus IX running Windows 10. It seems to be working alright without installing any special drivers. I only have two issues with this board: 1. It requires a secondary power connection. I wasn't thrilled to have to run a new power cable through my rig just for this card. 2. The molex connector easily pops off the board when attaching or detaching a cable. While I was able to remount it, it could easily pop off the board and damage its connection to the board in the process, so be careful or use the sata power connection instead. The main benefit of the this card is that it uses a separate USB hub for each port, resulting it much better bandwidth and response times across devices.
