Houdini Lock Lube

By far the best lock lubricant on the market. years ago, my local locksmith turned me onto this product. If you're a locksmith, you probably already know this. this works amazing, I do unlocks, and lock sport, I use it every time I open a lock. on top of that it works well as a lock deicer as well.

Great for locks, squeaky hinges, works works wonders.

I was recommended this by a locksmith friend, where it does a good job at lubricating not just lock mechanisms, but a broad spectrum of things. Everything from spraying a foot of a RV tongue jack to mitigate rust to hitting hinges on cars. So far, it has done an excellent job, and I have bought multiple cans of this to ensure that outside locks are operable after heavy rains. Finding a specific lubricant for locks is hard, because the wrong oil can gum up things and require a time-consuming cleaning. I used the wrong lubricant on one lock, wound up having to completely take it apart down to the individual springs, soak in a degreaser, then use a correct lubricant to get things working correctly. Every so often, especially after heavy rains, this is something to use on padlocks, both on the lock cylinder, as well as both sides of the shackle. For deadbolts on gates, I like spraying this on the screws, as this acts as an anti-seize, ensuring that it can be taken apart in the future. It also is good for spraying in the keyholes. I have also sprayed it on rusty areas, which works well as a barrier against corrosion. Smell-wise, it doesn't smell really bad. My only wish is that they include more than one of the straw.

I received my Houdini Lock Lube today, and the results are incredible. My front door features a 30-year-old Baldwin lock that endures the brutal, direct afternoon sun of Southern California. Recently, the lock began to stick so bad it had reached the point where the lock wouldn't budge and I was terrified my key would snap off inside. The hinges on the massive 6' x 9' solid oak door were creaking loudly. I applied the Houdini Lube to the keyhole, cycled the lock about 10 times, and sprayed the hinges. Just like that, the creaking stopped and the lock is now as smooth as silk. Highly recommended!

This cleans out most of the gunk, then leaves a dry film that lubricates the lock mechanism, and gives some rust protection. Also has a nice orange smell. This is in use and recommended by MANY locksmiths and those into locksport. It's a dry lube so isn't a messy oil (once it dries), and doesn't gum up like powdered graphite does.

This lube was recommended by our local locksmith. He swears by it. I'm very pleased with this product. This lubricant is even lighter than WD40. WD 40 is of course the best product ever invented for some projects, but WD 40 can also wash off needed lubricants. I some times use WD 40 for cleaning grease and freeing up stuck hinges and rusted bolts. Houdini is a Lubricant and is perfect for items that require a light weight lubricant. Houdini also does not attract dust and dirt I love the stuff.
