The hollow ones are flawed by design - there just isn't enough material to hold up. Had them on my road bike for 2+ years an NO issues, pushing 1000 Watts+ during sprints, and lots of slow and laborious climbing.Caveats:O they do rust a little - just wipe with WD40 or so every now and then. It's barely noticeable, but there. Doesn't bother me and it's only surface in a few spots.O They are in NO way lightweight. But then, again... they are cheap and LAST. If you want to save weight - buy pedals with custom spindle lengths. Speedplay makes a great pair. Or eat less donuts. Or don't carry a water bottle... but then... you know!? Point is: some weight is part of cycling, it's all good. Also, you're not a darn pro, so stop pretending, and enjoy your bike some. If you race crits - nobody cared about a little weight. Rant over.O Here's a big one... IF your pedals are fancy trying to have a smooth spindle and screw in with an allen key through the inside of the hole in the crank - they are essentially part of your pedal now - good luck getting them back off. I don't plan to, and simply accept them as an extra purchase, lol - just got a new pair for my new pedals.Sounds like a lot of caveats, lol. But since using weaker ones that do tend to break is so much worse, and hitting your bike frame with your knees kinda sucks, too - I love em (warts and all) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great adapters to mount SPD pedals on single piece cranks *by A***R on August 25, 2024* I bought this so I can use my SPD pedals on a stationary bike that has 1 piece crankset. Looks like 1 piece crankset have 1/2" thread while regular cranks have 9/16" thread. So I used this to use my regular MTB pedals. Note that it makes a little wider Q factor, but i prefer this setup over flat pedals. FYI male part of adapter is 1/2" thread and female part of adapter is 9/16" thread. Make sure to add grease to threads before installation, also do not mix left/right side adapters/pedals. Left side has reverse thread. Start the threading by hand to make sure you do nit crossthread them, though parts are clearly narked with LH/RH. Overall right solution for my case ! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ These work great for my knees *by O***N on October 11, 2019* My first ride after putting these on and my knee pain is gone. I didn't think moving my foot over 1 inch would really make a difference but darned if it didn't! It straightened my leg just enough that there is no lateral motion in my knee, making the motion much more fluidThe bolts themselves are nice and sturdy. They are steel and sold so they are strong.They are machined correctly. I was able to hand turn both of them all the way into the crank arms. I only needed the wrench to give them 1 partial turn to snug them up. The pedal bolts fit perfectly into them as well, also only needed the wrench for 1 small turn to snug them up.My only concern with these is that they are basically untreated steel. So they will be prone to rusting. I coated them with the same wax lube I use for my chain. That should be enough protectant for them if I coat them each time I relube the chain. I might also suggest spray painting them for protection. You could even match the color for the bike for added flare.UPDATE: After a few rides I noticed my quads were more sore than normal. It was muscle, not skeletal. What happened was the slight change in leg position made a slight change in which muscles I used to pedal. Not severe, but enough to notice.This went away after a couple more rides as my legs got used to the new position. So don't panic if your legs are suddenly feeling more worked than usual. You are just using slightly different muscles than you are used to.
