Harsh Aromachemicals
I've been using the same brand of natural/non toxic bath and body products for years. I decided to try a different conditioner because mine has a very thick consistency which makes it rather difficult to squeeze out of the bottle. When I tried this product for the first time, I was happy with the pump application and the fact that I didn't have to struggle with the bottle while in the shower. However, this conditioner is heavily perfumed and applying it in an enclosed space of the shower made me feel like I was suffocating.I couldn't believe that a product from a company who claims to offer green beauty products would use such harsh aroma-chemicals in a conditioner. The experience triggered a massive headache that lasted for days. I only wash my long hair every few days but the overwhelming scent stayed on my hair after drying and even scented my pillows. I couldn't wait to wash it off and be rid of this smell. I happen to love the scent of sandalwood and if it had been made from plant extracts instead of the nasty modern aroma-chemicals, the scent profile would have been quite enjoyable. I would not recommend this product to those with chemical sensitivities.UPDATE: It's over a month later and I've washed my hair 6 times since, including a visit in a hair salon, yet the smell from this conditioner is still lingering in my hair. It's fainter now, of course, but persistently present. Now, I've worn some powerhouse perfumes in the past but even those never lasted more than a day or two on skin or hair. Is this a conditioner or some kind of nuke goo?
