Still worth the time in 2020
I got this back in 2015 and have not needed it much since then, until this week. I needed to get back up to speed on SQL and XML queries and I was cranking out the TSQL in minutes thanks to this book.I wasted an hour looking through my other SQL books and was getting nowhere until I remembered this jewel.

Very Helpful SQL Server Reference Series
The Joes 2 Pros SQL Server 2012 books are a very useful resource to have around for newcomers or even seasoned DB developers who may not always use SQL Server as their most common development platform (like me). Each book chunks topics into a single small book make it affordable and giving the user the ability to select only those areas that they need help with.Having them on a Kindle Device, iPad, PC, or Mac is indispensable in the workplace even though there are very cogent and very terse resources available to the SQL Server user/developer via MSDN and Google.A welcome addition in my opinion to the Kindle Bookshelf of reference material.

Excellent SQL Server XML tutorial and reference!!!
Unlike with other topics, Training kit 70-461 does not do the best job of explaining XML at all, especially for this exam...and the chapter is too short I think. With zero XML experience, I now feel very comfortable with it and even enjoyed working with XML while learning. HIGHLY recommend this book for SQL Server XML newbies.

Excellent book for those who are interested in ExtendedEvents
One of the best books available out there for XML Querying... for making the best use of ExtendedEvents where one has to query XML data this book would be very helpful...
