Fallkiven A1xb Fixed 161mm Black Blade Thermorun Handle

This will be my new dispersed camp knife. I won't be carrying a hatchet or saw, will be traveling on a motorcycle, and will be using a wood-burning stove for all my cooking. 1. With a gloved hand, I can spend a few hours processing wood with this no problem. Which will be necessary if I'll be predominantly procuring my cooking and campfire wood on site. 2. Without a glove, I'd have to build up some callouses before I could chop for extended periods of time. The exposed tang through the handle will take some getting used to. 3. Is it just me, or does sap seem to come off much more easily from this tungsten carbide coated blade than non-coated SS and high carbon steel? 4. I appreciate the well-placed but nom-obtrusive finger guard. It definitely helps me in my feather stick practice, which I need to do a *lot* of. 5. Yes, it will baton. Like a monster. 6. Haven't had to sharpen it yet, and came out of the box quite sharp. Enough to easily curl up some pine feather sticks that I was struggling to do with my old Spyderco Endura. 7. Thick spine and convex grind make fine meal prep tough. Make do with thick tomato and onion slices. 8. I like the sheath, and the double-security of it's locking mechanism. But I do wish that a bit more of the handle were accessible when sheathed, so I could get more fingers on it when drawing. As-is, I can get the first two knuckles of my index and middle fingers around the butt of the handle when drawing, which doesn't feel great.

This knife will do it all. You can work it to death and it will outlast even the best camper, bush crafter. This knife has been through the paces and still just as sharp as the day I got it and not even a scratch yet. Great for small and medium tasks. You can chop with it but it will wear out your hand. Great for same small tasks but great for medium tasks like batoning, feather sticking, shaving wood and carving. The price is up there but it will out live you.

Very fine blade. This knife checked off all the boxes. I have carried it on several camping trips and hikes. I have large hands and I would like a little more handle but it works well as is. Edge holding is outstanding. Great knife!

Perfect knife, simply perfect. The sheath however could be better, the retention is great but the tip of the knife can easily catch on the inside protrusions, this prevents the knife from being fully inserted

The first time I purchased this product I received a typical Fallkniven box that *said* it contained an A1xb (black blade), however, it was already opened and inside was the cheaper (not black) A1x. I explained this to Amazon and was issued a full refund after returning the item, which I used to purchase this knife again from a more reputable seller. So: great knife, possibly the best survival knife money can buy, but don't get duped! The tungsten carbide coating is noticeably black.

fallkniven è una garanzia in fatto di qualità. il coltello è eccezionalmente robusto ed acciaio di ottima qualità. Unica pecca il coltello non arriva affilato a rasoio (come vorrei) e metterci subito mano per riaffilarlo mi scoccia parecchio....visto il costo poi........
