Have to have the patients of a saint to put on. Use usb.
The media could not be loaded. First off this lego set (not included) was the first set my son had to take a break from EVER. With installing these lights, you have to take several parts of the gingerbread house apart. The installation video is like 12 minutes. Well my 12 year old son who is gifted with legos & been building with them since 2. He put the lights on the tree & was done. I tried to put the lights on & was breaking apart the gingerbread house & not how they were telling me to on the instructional video. Which btw was like 12 minutes. Yeah not sure what mastermind put that film together but you are a super hero of putting these lights on. I’m not proud to say this. But I almost throw the lego set at a wall at one point before giving up. When my husband (who has the patience of a saint) came home he took over. After 2 1/2 hours the lights were all on. Not to sure if all the lego pieces made it back in the correct places but it is what it is. The lights are so bright that no one will be able to tell anyway.Put fresh batteries in & wow was super impressed!!! The next day when we woke up only the red lights were working. Super disappointed but decided to put in new batteries. Back to glowing bright & colorful. 12 hours later only red lights yet again. So had my husband install the USB provided & it’s back to blinding us (only when close). It’s been on none stop with USB for 5 days & everything is still working great.

I can't believe it worked
So this review is not entirely unique, although I have some things to add to other reviews. Like others have said, the instructions are pretty poor in some areas. There are no written instructions, just pictures in sequence. Probably 60-70% of the pictures are easy to understand, but some of them seem to skip steps that would be very helpful to show, and/or show you how to do things in the wrong sequence. Also some of them show extremely detailed steps like plugging 4 or 5 tiny wires into a small connector strip, and the pictures are no very well zoomed in so it's hard to tell which wires to plug where. Some of this was a guessing game, and I don't feel like a professionally built light kit should leave any room for guessing. Another big frustration for me was anything that had adhesive in this kit was totally useless. The first thing was the light bar that attaches to the ceiling just above the fireplace. It sticks onto an included Lego piece, but after a short time, because it hangs upside down, it just falls off, so i got glue out and glued it in place. The second thing that contained adhesive were the small double sides adhesive squares that hold the individual lights in place. They do not hold well at all. I ended up throwing them all away and using a hot glue gun instead. It holds much better and is still not totally permanent. Also to make things click in place a little better (especially the roof peak edge), I used a razor blade to edge small notches into the plastic Lego pieces so that the wire could run underneath without popping up the piece off the roof. So I have a lot of complaints about the kit, but at the end of the day, when it was all plugged in and I switched it on, it worked, and looked beautiful. Very happy with the end result. Just be prepared to use your head a little and with a little creativity and modification, you get a better working result than what the instructions will give you.

Gorgeous Set! Here's What You Need to Know:
Let's begin with the good: This set is GORGEOUS. Photos don't do it justice. The colors are vivid and bright -- very "Christmasy". We have a total of about 15 different set-specific Lego light sets, from various companies, and this one is our absolute favorite.Next, the neutral: What you can't tell from photos is that the lights in this set BLINK. There is no adjustment for this. If you don't want blinking lights, don't buy this set. Finally, the bad: This set was relatively difficult to install. Not the most difficult, but on a scale from 1 to 10 with 10 being "Very Difficult", I'd say it's a 7 or possibly an 8. This is mainly because of the poorly written instructions. If you are already a pro at installing Lego light sets, you'll be able to power through and get it set up successfully. (as we did). It was tedious and frustrating at times but we did it. This set does not come with pre-attached bricks, so if that is what you are used to, be prepared for a bit more work than usual. The bottom line is that, for the price, and despite the relatively difficult installation, this set is WELL worth it because the payoff is spectacular. We are thrilled with it and next year it's going under the tree. Merry Christmas!

Installation a challenge, adhesives are poor
Came in a staggering amount of pieces that were a little intimidating to assemble at first. I will say that all the wiring needed made several pieces unsteady. I had to glue a few pieces on.The adhesive squares did NOT hold several of the lights and I am still struggling to get them to stay where they are supposed to. I may just cut the whole thing out again.

it is worth because you have to spend time
it is very beautiful . very tine parts and need times to put on that . i almost want to give up because you have to move some parts of the lego ( roof) to make it each part correctly . i would say if you want to challenge yourself, you can try to do that . even though they have pictures to show of the steps but some of the steps are not the clear and complex.

Frustrating. Irritating. A complete waste of money!
This has to be the most frustrating and disappointing thing I have ever purchased. I gave up after an hour. Instructions so confusing. The build was difficult and frustrating enough with the flimsy roof. Having to do it all again was so disheartening. I ended up taking all the lights off and throwing it away.

Complicated to install
Much too complicated to install for typical LEGO builder

Misleading picture
Unfortunately I was in a rush and thought this included the gingerbread house. I thought it was a great deal until I read it more thoroughly an hour later. It was my fault but I feel the picture was misleading.Immediately I tried to cancel but it was already shipped causing me to pay return shipping. Love LEGO and amazon but the picture is very misleading.

Schlechte Umsetzung
