Yes, they are paper cards. I perfered this because i was able to highlight the important parts of the answers i wanted to remember. They are also perforated. if you fold them along the perforation before you pull them apart they will not tear. The cards have a lot of information on them. That is because the test requires you to understand the material, not just regurgitate a bunch of facts. The TExES exam is unlike any other exam i've taken before. it is full of teaching scenarios and you have to use the knowledge you aquired through studying to find the best possible answer. And I say "best possible" because most of the questions have at least 2 answers that could be correct. I used this study system to study for the EC-12 Special Education exam and it helped me pass with a 270.

I love that it is easy to use and review. Only suggestion is to shorten the length of the answers, at times they can be very length. I have enjoyed reviewing the material and the sections that the topics are broken into. The sections of the laws and history of special education has been interesting material to study. I would recommend to any friends or family who are considering on find TExES study guides to use the buy the Mometrix Test Preparation.

I personally found the cards very helpful and informative and were very easy to separate and did not once tear as they cards were beautiful perforated. I am very excited to take advantage of the informational DVD as well as the flashcards. I used the mometrix videos to prepare for my Generalist EC-6 exam and I would not have been as prepared without the information I received! (I passed all subjects on the first try)

Don't expect to use this as a test guide. If your a new teacher it will help. Do expect to learn a great deal about classroom strategies to help you pass the scenarios tested. Remembering that this is a national company and this is a Texas based test. Classroom experience is what will really help you pass.

I am very pleased with the sturdiness of cards and no smudging from my highlighters. I was very happy with the drop in price which made it possible for me to purchase them. They arrived ahead of time.

Absolutely love the flashcards -- I can study anywhere with them and fit them into my purse. Very detailed answers on the back of each card which I absolutely love and it is just so helpful. My only negative is that in comparison to the Special Education EC-12 Study guide, the flashcards differ greatly, so I am hoping by having both on hand to study that it covers all of the basis.

I bought the flashcards from Amazon to help with my studies, I loved them, the answers are an in-depth explanation in the back of each card. I can take them with me anywhere I go. I would say these flashcards are helping me to understand the concept and not only to memorize it.
