The sound feature alerts you and makes you aware of the current. I guess its how well you focus on what you are doing as to whether or not you need the sound feature. Also, if in tight spaces and the light is not visible you would need the sound feature. They both are are quick to respond. Just do not need both units. I guess it still raises the hair on my back that desertcart would not cancel one order. I canceled within 5 min±. It has a button that is used only to ensure that it still has battery power. The 1ac is the older one that can be turned on or off.
