I was looking for a way to remedy this problem and was looking for a mount like this. I received the mount earlier than promised
I wanted to mount a UTG Dot Sight on my Hi-Point 995 Carbine but didn't want to remove the iron sights. I was looking for a way to remedy this problem and was looking for a mount like this. I received the mount earlier than promised from the provider and noted that the mount is well made. The picatinny rail on the Hi-Point is made of a very hard composite material but upon trying to place the mount on the gun I found it would not fit. I found that the cross grooves of the weapon's rail were a little too close together. Ten minutes with a file and I was in business. The mount clamps well and is very solid. A note of caution folks. Tighten the rail clamps tight and quit, otherwise you will strip the threads. Don't go overboard.

Fine just not for my 3 gun match needs...
It's exactly as advertised, fit the picatinny rails fine, only problem is, I wanted to use it for 3 gun match type set up with a Red-Dot 30mm sight, and the offset is not enough for the Red-Dot to be out of the way of my normal scope, even on a 3/4" riser. Keep that in mind, but other than not being good for my use, it's good to go.

Glad I bought several
I haven't had any issues with over tightening the 4 I bought. But then again, I'm using the wrong size hex key and can't find the correct one (its lost) so they are lose on an airsoft rifle (no biggie). Anyways, easy to put on and take off. Can be used either side or even on a side rail facing up or down. From what I found when I install two side by side the space between them becomes another free float space in the event the locking pin falls there. Nothing too special about them, but that's the idea. They match well with my RIS.

Look no further
I have an unbelievably high standard when it comes to putting items on my weapons that may one day defend my life or those whom I love. I have full confidence this will last the life of my weapon. It is a solid, well-constructed piece that looks great. I'm running two of these per weapon with some Magpul MBUS sights and couldn't have hoped for a better setup. Save your money and buy this product with confidence. As always, secure all of your accessories with some blue Loctite and you'll never worry about this rail failing.

They work but you will have to be gentle
The actual rail is solid the screws are weak most likely zinc and break if you twist them hard enough

Great so far
Mounts just fine on my AR. Has no problem mounting "firmly" on my weapon and the red-dot mounts perfectly and evenly on the TacFire rail. I can still use my Iron sight and my red-dot is right there which is perfect. I will update the review when I fire a few rounds . . . but I do not see any issues so far. *Update: I moved the Red-Dot to the right side (made more sense to tilt the AR "very slightly" to my left) and it is now Perfect.

Meant for low height optics or flashlights, not for anything with a rise.
You can mount a red dot on it, but it will be really high off the barrel unless you use a mini-dot. Anything with a built in riser will be too tall.It doesn't have giant goofy knobs on it though, which is nice.

Not so great for optics however
Well suited for flashlights, lasers, etc. Well built and feels solid. Not so great for optics however. My micro red dot sits a little too high to maintain a proper cheek weld.
