Upgraded Rear Liftgate Tailgate Handle with Metal Plate Compatible with 2004-2009 Toyota Prius Replaces # 76801-47030-C0, 76801-47040-C0 (Carbon Fiber Look)

This is a bolt-in replacement for the rear hatch handle. It contains the lock button, the open button and a notch to knock out if you have the rearview camera. There are videos on youtube on how to replace it, it really only takes a few minutes and a deep socket, ratchet, screw driver and maybe a little pry bar to get the body clips out. Fits exactly.

I'm definitely not a bad product the fitment could be just a snug better. Because of this slightly off fitment of this product the installations kind of annoying but the quality is where it needs to be definitely very durable and very pleasant to look at.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: This was a cheap, easy to install solution to a pretty common problem for 2nd generation Prius's. New handle feels pretty sturdy, much more so than the original one on my Prius that completely shattered while opening the trunk one day.

When it was time to replace the nasty goopy handle switch, of course some of the ancient brittle bits on the garnish broke. $30 for a new switch, $30 for this plastic garnish, meanwhile the dealership wants like $500. The studs are the same so you can reuse the 4 nuts that secure the garnish. Don't forget to swap over the button cover if your switch is equipped with it. My Toyota emblem still had enough sticky tape to be secured, but if yours doesn't you'll want to grab some. Highly recommend this product to all 2nd gen Prius owners!!!

I believe the paint to be a near perfect match for the silver Prius. I live off of dirt roads. So after the install, took some dust of the road and smeared it all over the panel. Absolutely perfect 👌. Was missing some hardware. Reached out to the seller and was told some would be sent. Never happened. But I made it work with some of the older hardware

Everything fit, including the cutout for the backup camera and the port for the keyless entry sensor. So glad they included screws to mount the sensor because the old ones were rusted and had to be drilled out. I originally thought I needed to paint this part to match the original but the finish looks really nice so I'm leaving it as is. Using this part and installing myself saved about $350!
