Got this as it is the only 'Carry On' movie I didn't have, and I remember watching it on telly some years ago. Although universally panned by the critics, I found it funnier than some of the 'Carry Ons' of the late 1970s, such as Carry On England & Carry On Emmanuelle. Also it's worth remembering that of the 3 Christopher Columbus movies released in 1992, this was the one that made the most money at the box office.

Counterfeit copy as film not officially released on DVD.
The last of the official Carry On Films, made in 1992 with some of the remaining original cast. It bombed at the Cinema and the original stars hated it. This is clearly a knock off DVD it's pretty poor video quality and the cover doesn't provide any clues to who produced it. There doesn't appear to be any official release of this film on DVD and it's rarely shown on TV, so if you want to see it, this is probably the only way you ever will.

Carry On Columbus
Ever since I saw Carry on Columbus I have had to own it and besides, it rounds out my Carry on Gang collection. I found it very funny in places and I thought the acting to be quite good. I found the opening scenes in the Sultan of Turkey's palace a bit shaky, but once Jim Dale and Bernard Cribbens start acting the film settles down nicely. I think Cheryl Crowe does a wonderful job as Fatima. Unlike other reviewers, I thought the scenes in America with the natives were well constructed and funny. In my view the movie is very good, but doesn't have the "feel" of the other Carry on Gang films. This is inevitable as so many faces have changed and times have moved on, but overall it was, in my opinion a very good attempt and I still enjoy the gags watching the movie as I get a good laugh out of it.

Pirate copy
This item is clearly a pirated copy from a VHS tape. Very dodgy. The cover is on filmsy photocopy paper and the disc is a printable DVD5 disc. Beware.

Poor by comparison with all previous titles in the series.

Excellent quality, great fun... I definitely recommend!
Great fun. Excellent quality mastering (considering the original film) Please know that you MUST have a DVD player which plays 'Region-2' discs. This is a MUST! This is one of the Carry On series (which is NOT included in 'The Ultimate Collection'). If you like the others, this is a must, as well. I definitely recommend this item!

I love "Carry On" movies so no matter what I purchase I enjoy them all. I appreciate that the actors are very versatile in their roles. I watch them to laugh..........

Mediocre "Carry On" picture.
The acting and sets are good in this last of the "Carry On" pictures but the script leaves a lot to be desired. Some good moments but not up to par with the older ones. Picture and sound are OK.
