Great knife! Beware of fakes!
Great knife! Great sheath! I don't know why some people talk bad about the sheath. The knife fits very well and there are numerous options for carry without doing too much. The molle mount option works great for a plate carrier. The knife itself it sharp and made from good metal for the purpose of the knife. THE PURPOSE OF THE KNIFE. Some people get silly with their opinions on knife steel because they've read multiple forum posts and articles and think they know what's best for every knife. Sorry, you're not as much of an expert as you think you are. If you want some very specific metal that's going to be 1% superior in some specific circumstance over the life of the knife, go for it. Pay twice as much for your special knife from a boutique company. Get out of here. This is a great knife. That said, BEWARE OF FAKES. The market is flooded with fakes, but there are numerous videos online telling you how to spot the fakes. I got a legit knife from the Gerber store here on Amazon. Don't buy from questionable sources for "50% off deals."

Outstanding EDC
What a great knife. With the option for horizontal carry. This knife is strong and sharp. American made in Oregon, the Strongarm has quality craftsmanship and firm grip. I’d have paid $20 more for it. It’s that good.

Great Knife!
I love this knife. I think this will become my new EDC. This knife is of the same high quality that I expect from Gerber Knives. The grip feels great in my hand, the blade is sharp right out of the box and the sheath can be reconfigured for ways to carry it or attach it to your gear. The blad is finished and corrosion resistant.

A different reason why I choose the Strongarm over Becker and Esee or such
1st off, I am coming from the Becker and Esee families which I owned Becker 2, 5, 7, 9, 14, 15 and Esee Izula, 4, 5, 6, Junglas. I used most of them in the passed few years and finally decided to let them go. They are great knives and you really get that "Boy, this knife is great!" feeling. However, I don't get to use/carry these knives in a day to day basis. I only take them out camping/hiking or working in the yard. Rust start to show up on these expansive knives if I don't take care of them. I wipe and dry the blades after cutting a pineapple camping. I wipe and dry the blades after gutting the fish on the trip....they rust even my sheaths are wet inside.... You get the idea?As I am getting older and lazier (no pun intended, lol), I decided to jump ship to so called "stainless" blades to suit my situation. This Strongarm cuts and chops very similar to the Beckers and Esees. I know it is not the most perfect geometry, long lasting, comfortable or eye pleasing knife to a lot of people, but I do find this knife finishes the job with ease.1) Stainless blade - Ddon't have to deal with the rust issue, I use it and put it back to the sheath without worries.2) Enclosed handle material - Once again, no rust inside the handle. No loosen screws to worry. Great traction to provide a firm grip.3) Sheath - Comes with Kydex/plastic sheath with multiple carry options. Much easier to use than nylon sheath in general.4) Price - Reasonably priced. I will not cry like my friend who lost an Esee in the woods last time. Also not afraid to beat on this thing because it is so cheap to replace.5) Size - Great to carry without being too bulky. I do also own a SOG seal team in case I want a bigger knife for more fun. Some people will argue that we all need a super blade or blades in case we are in a "survival" situation. I agree but figure if I ever come to an situation which I manage to break my Strongarm or Seal team...... I am in a big pile of Sxxxx already and no other knives can save me from the ditch! LOL. Now I bring a tomahawk with a knife if I need to to cove the "cut" and "chop" part.IMHO from my experience:Best Kydex factory sheath: EseeWorst Kydex factory sheath: SOGBest Nylon factory sheath: SOGWorst Nylon factory sheath: Becker, OntarioWith all respects, this is totally my own opinion and hope I didn't offense anybody in the knife community. LOL.

Excellent deal for the price.
You cannot throw sparks from a ferro rod with this knife. The spine has smoothed edges. Which is a great disappointment. Yet, it’s the cheapest full tang Magnacut knife, that comes close to 5”, that I can find in the market. On other knives that I own, I was able to file the spine to get it to spark a ferro rod. But not this knife. The magnacut is too tough and my file hardly scratched the surface. The tip is not perfectly straight. It slightly leans to one side. It did not come super sharp out the box. When I sharpened it, using my sharpening system I got from Amazon for $60, I had to use the 240 grit diamond stone for a long time to reshape the edge, Because from the factory, the tip of the knife was grinded at a different angle from the belly of the blade. I’m glad I got a knife sharpening system that maintains the same angle. Otherwise it would be a lot more challenging to sharpen. It took a while, but I got it razor sharp and slicing through paper like butter. Magnacut has excellent edge retention compared to other knives. And it’s a 7/10 for toughness according to the steel nerds website. So it’s less likely to chip or break while batoning than other steels like D2, 440c or N695. The sheath fits comfortably in my pocket while still attached to my belt and it’s super secure. Not difficult to quickly deploy and stow in the sheath.
