He loves science and loves this book. It covers every aspect of science. Review: Dynamite! - Really, I had fun with this. The struggle for an accurate representation of cosmology is interesting because it forced better science methods and rational thinking, and for centuries they had to make do with fundamental geometry before physics was created, but the intellect feels surreal. I mean, it goes from stimulating dead frog muscles to creating artificial life on a microscopic level, and slipping into successful cloning experiments, plus the strange evolution based on ecological pressures, which supports the concepts of chaos theory, and television horror fiction doesn't seem so weird. Frankenstein's monster seems like a possibility. Sure, it's fantasy speculation on my part, but science has been making a steady climb and exploded exponentially in the twentieth century. Sincerely, it's a fun book!

Good intro
Well summarized introduction to learning about science and science history. Loaded with great vocabulary, flowcharts, and illustrations to help a newcomer to the sciences or someone who wants to relearn science. Great for kids and students looking to absorb knowledge

Good overview of history of scientific discoveries and concepts.
This is a good book for what it is - an overview and short synopsis of many areas of scientific discoveries and concepts. The book is separated into major time periods (beginning of science, scientific revolution, 1900-1945, 1945-Present etc). No scientific concept or scientist are discussed in much detail, as this book is very general. This book is very easy to read and interesting. I recommend this book. Please mark if you find my review helpful. Thank you so much!

I made it a guidepost to writing a personal climate science history
The Science book proved helpful for my quest to articulate my own history of climate science. I first bought the Kindle version and found it helpful in my quest. Finally, I decided I needed the paper edition to underline sentence, mark in the margins, and carry it outdoors. The paper edition arrived today and I almost sent it back because the text is just too small, but I found an old pair of reading glasses that enlarge the print. So, I'll gladly keep it. This book is entertaining, educational, and well written. I especially enjoy the cross referencing among scientists and research subjects.

Very well put together
This book was a great read for anyone who is interested in an overview of science and its progressions throughout time. This is my second "Big Ideas Simply Explained" book. I enjoy the way this book is formatted; the use of diagrams/figures to provide a visual reference to the written subject matter provides clarity and are easy to understand. This book never gets boring. Topics change frequently and overviews are carefully explained in a very digestible manner for the average consumer. Enjoy!

Big ideas simply explained! I love all of these DK Publishing books! I love to read I love to learn and I especially love science. So far I have this book the science, psychology, business, philosophy, and religions. I can't wait to buy more! These books are good to buy for yourself or for others. I don't have young children or any children at all but I imagine these would be a really really good way to get children involved in science they have a way of taking these big grand ideas and breaking it down so anybody can understand it you get so involved in these books and lose track of time and it makes learning fun! I highly suggest these books to anyone

I loved this series of books
I loved this series of books! I'm already a fan of the "Dummies" and "Idiots" books, which simplify and organize information for those of us with Big Curiosity, but Little Patience! This series, BIG IDEAS SIMPLY EXPLAINED, are wonderful, concise, simply, explanations of profound ideas. I would recommend them for general reading, overall understanding before studying a subject, or just leafing through when a question occurs.
