Pro Bass Extra Long Guitar Strap

I read reviews of the length before I bought this, so it was exactly what it said it was. I needed EXACTLY the 42" based on where I wear my bass, I am traditionally taught and was always told I wear my bass pretty high. (about the level it would be if I were to be sitting with the bass on my lap) I bought the x-long because the "long" would have only adjusted shorter and sometimes when playing live my other bandmates trade off taking my bass from me when I sing, and they would need MORE length than me, being average 5'11"- 6'3" boys. The strap has 2 holes on each side in the leather, the closer is what brings the strap to 42", with it fully shortened. I'm a 5'6" girl of average build, but I have a D chest, so I have to have enough strap to go around those too, heh. Anyway, I bought this to hold up an 18lb acrylic 5 string bass, which is the heaviest guitar I have ever met, it is as least as heavy as my guitarist's double neck 1275, but I'm pretty sure it's even heavier than that. And I used to think my 5 string fender p-bass was heavy (10ish lbs?) Anyway, this strap is fantastic, I am able to to play the 18lb for 4 hour shows with no issues, until the next day. The support this thing has is great, and I don't feel any pain, fatigue or soreness while playing. The next day however, I do have light soreness in my shoulder, but to be honest I've used the strap about 4 times in performance and am not concerned to do it again, so it's not that bad. Just be aware of the length, I think if you like to wear your bass really low, this is not going to work for you, regardless of the size you pick. But if you wear it high or mid level, you'll be fine if you measure. Take your current strap off and measure it from strap hole to strap hole and you'll be all set.

Comfortable neoprene that seems to breathe better than I expected. I am very active and we play 3 1hr sets. It has been just fine. I especially like the loops over the neoprene so I can attach my inear send unit and wireless unit. I use a very heavy XWire transmitter and it holds it just fine. I would like to see a wider version for these blasted heavier basses - better weigh distribution would help!

It’s ok but not the super strap the reviews said it is. I’m a big person and yes, it is long enough but the neoprene padding almost doesn’t sit on my shoulder. Most of the meat is on my back. It probably would fit better if I lost 30 lbs. though.

I bought this to replace an older Neotech strap that is similar to the Comfort Strapp for use with my acoustic bass guitar. Overall, this strap provides me more comfort and sizing adjustment options than the Neotech strap. I'm glad I bought this and expect to get many years of use out of it. I still have a short size Comfort Stapp I bought in 2001! I added an another short size Comfort Strapp to use with other basses. They are well made and just fit my needs better than any strap I've owned. I've owned and used expensive leather straps such as a Moody wide soft leather strap, Levy straps of various sizes and I keep coming back to Comfort Strapps. They can get hot in the summer for outdoor gigs so bring a towel. But so do leather straps! Comfort Strapps can be washed in a clothes washer! Great product and always a pleasure ordering through Amazon.

I'm 5' 10" and wear my bass pretty high. I'm using the outer-most holes and tried the extra long strap with my Fender Jazz and Music Man Stingray basses (very typical instruments) and it only barely fits me. One side is adjusted as long as it can be and the other has maybe an inch of play, that's it. If you are over 6 feet, have a big belly or wear your bass low, this doesn't have a chance of fitting you. Apparently I angle my neck up which means the soft, springy padding only covers half of my shoulder with the adjustment hardware (whatever that's really called) resting squarely on my shoulder. It seems these straps are designed for a specific body type and playing angle with anything outside that being less than optimal. I think they are too expensive for something so fiddly and won't buy another. Very disappointed.

Amazing strap. A little longer than I anticipated, but it still will be put to good use. I'd recommend rounding down for the size you plan on buying. In other words, if you're unsure whether to get the large or extra large, play it safe and get the large.

*Life span* My first comfort strapp lasted 13 years now, with medium-heavy bass guitars and the usage of a professional player. It still works but is kind of worn and limp now. So that's a pretty good life span, isn't it? *Wearing Comfort* A leather strap might last twice as long but wouldn't have the same wearing comfort. The neoprene feels like a nice cushion on my shoulder and back, while the light stretch really reduces the perceived weight of my bass guitars without ever bouncing or being hard to control. My left shoulder thanks me every time I finish a session or gig of more than 2 hours. A minor downside is sweat-related: If you're prone to sweating on stage, you'll sometimes have a sweat imprint of the strap on the back of your shirt. I think I sweat a little less under a leather strap. Also, the sweat goes into the neoprene of course, I recommend washing it on gentle cycle, maybe in a little wash bag. *Price* In Germany, the Comfort Strapp is around 60 Euros and that would well be worth it, but I was in the US recently and bought two of them on amazon (from Sam Ash) at not even half that rate. So I'm good for the next 13 years (or maybe more because I have two of them now sharing the work between them.) I tried shopping for different straps but coming back to this one was the obvious option. It's a solid choice; no more, no less. But I wouldn't know why to give it less than five stars.
