It works well once it is set up properly. There is a bit of a learning curve to understanding the modes it can respond to, but once done, it is reliable. We used it to alert us if a dementia patient leaves the premises without our knowledge during the night. It can be set for a loud chime with entry/exit, or with a LOUD siren. The siren for sure will awaken the household. It alerts your Android phone anywhere anytime there is an entry exit, alerting if the door is opened or closed. Overall, happy with the performance.

Do you want to Arm the alarm while walking out the door? Do you want to Arm the alarm after walking out the door, using the app? These operations are hampered by the fact that arming via the hardware or via the software will not work while the unit it in Standby. Standby begins 15 sec after the last detected door open or close, and it ends ~5sec after the next door open or close signal. This means if you open the door, step outside, and hit the button while closing the door behind you, there probably wasn't enough time for it to come out of standby, and your button press was not registered. This also means that by the time you finish locking up the door behind you, take out your phone, open the app, and navigate to the Arm button, 15 sec has maybe passed, and if that's the case then your Arm command will not be registered. And of course, Un-Arming the alarm when you return home is only possible after you've opened the door, because un-arming from your car before you walk up to the door would only be possible if the unit was not in standby. And as I've established.... out of the 86,400 seconds in a day, this thing only works for 15 sec at a time

I got this for an interior door to let me know if my son got out of his room in the middle of the night. I could not be happier with this purchase.-Easy setup (I have a dual band router and the alternative setup worked like a charm)-works like it's supposed to. Works great as a stand alone unit, but works even better with the app.-Great app! My wife and I both have it on our phones and it works seamlessly and flawlessly.It's just great for the price, it's great in spite of the price!

Can experience some lag on input when internet connection is poor.

Sometimes the app shows the device is disarmed when it is actually armed and vice versa.

This is the best thing if you are looking to setup your home security by yourself without spending huge bucks. Extremely easy to setup, comes with all the mounting needs. The alarm sound is pretty loud and notifications are instant too.The only feature i would like to see added to this device is the ability to disarm the alarm from the app instead of going physically to the device and putting the code to disarm it. Perhaps this can be achieved with software update may be!

I had the same issue as others. The app device control and push notifications only work during the day. At night (post-11pm) they don't function at all. Since they work perfectly during the day it's obviously a bug with the app.At night I open the app, click Disarm, the screen updates, I close the app and reopen it, and it shows the alarm is still armed. During the day that functionality works just fine. Not at night.I don't have any Do Not Disturb times set on the app or my phone, and yet push notifications just stop working at night. I receive other push notifications from other apps throughout the night, this Braumm app is literally the only one that stops at night.So pretty worthless if you wanted to disarm from the app when coming home late or be notified of someone entering while you're out for the evening. There's no way to disable this blackout time period and customer service is nonresponsive.

Trash tried everything, not connecting. I’m batting 1000 on Amazon Products. Videos, Guide And App all have conflicting information. Videos and Guide are asking to click on Security & Sensor but there is no option for that, on the App it says Security & Video Surveillance. There is an option that just says Sensors where I do see the contact sensor option they are referring to. So I tried that to no avail. Balancing a bottle on my door knob works better than this trash.
