The remote for my ONKYO TX-8020 Stereo Receiver stopped working two days ago. At first, I thought it might be the batteries are starting to fail. After replacing the batteries with another set, still no joy. I double checked the batteries with a tester, and they were good but still not able to turn off or on the receiver. A quick search on Amazon educated me that the ONKYO remotes have a tendency to die prematurely. I read several reviews for this remote and that it worked well for the model numbers listed in the heading for this item. No where did I see anything stating it would work with a TX-8020. For $8 delivered to my door I decided to give it a try. It works perfectly for what I need.Before installing batteries in the remote for the first time I turned off my receiver. I installed the batteries in the remote and pressed the power button. The receiver powered up and I could adjust the volume both up and down. That is all I need for my home office system. I am NOT able to switch my source of online streaming from my computer to another source like the FM turner. I am okay with this as I can make the switch manually by getting up from my desk.I recommend this product. A great option for replacing the original remote for my purposes.

easy-ready to use right out of the box. just wish it had the Onkyo logo on it.

My remote died as I was having a party, which was unfortunate timing. I replaced the batteries, and still, it didn't work. I used my cell phone to see if the IR was sending a signal. It was but it looked weak. SoI ordered this one, hoping that would resolve the issue. I was really hoping it would as I was not looking forward to replacing the receiver. I used the Onkyo app, but id did not have the same features as the remote. Specifically the button on the lower right (MODE) which is handing when listening to music and wanting to watch video at the same time. Something we do ever morning and during football season. Nothing better than listening to your music instead of the sports commentators!The delivery was QUICK and as soon as I added the battery, I had access to my receiver again! And my precious MODE button was working again!!!THANKS!

Exactly as advertised. It works perfectly with my Onkyo receiver. No pairing necessary. Just install the batteries and it's ready to use. GREAT PRODUCT..

It's a great price and it works with my Onkyo AV receiver right out of the box. No programming required on either end.

Does the same thing the original did when new. I wish they would seal around the buttons better to prevent dust and grime from disabling buttons.
