The Cupcake Diaries is an awesome series, reminiscent of Young Adult series books from the 80s and 90s (The Babysitters' Club, The Gymnasts, Sleepover Friends, etc.) but even better. The girls in the club strongly value friendship and help each other out. I felt bad for Emma when she didn't tell anyone about her financial difficulties and how she overworked herself to make money, taking on too many responsibilities at once. Another thing that I absolutely love about this series are the girls' cupcake ideas. Instead of simply making plain vanilla or chocolate cupcakes and just decorating them to look good, these girls actually come up with some very delicious combinations. I LOVE the idea of bacon cupcakes--- too bad a recipe wasn't included in the book, but I definitely will try making some of these. Excellent series!

All my favorite things
This series just keeps getting better.I like to see the story form different points of view. I can't wait to make the cupcakes mentioned in the book and sell them. Me and my friends are starting our own cupcake business. I can't wait to get started !

Good book for 8-year-olds
My 8-year-old daughter begged me to post a review on her behalf, as she liked this book so much. So here is her review of this book:I loved that she thought she couldn't buy a dress, but her friends helped her - even her big brother did. I stayed up most of the night reading, just to get to the end. It shows how people can work together and I already liked the characters from the other books.

An Awesome, Super, Great read
My Daughter really liked this book because of the trouble they help each other through and the team work. SheThink girls from the ages 7-13 would love this series or girls who love cooking and friendship. I know this because my daughter is 11 and she loved, fell in love with this books. When she starts reading one she doesn't want to stop.
