SOG Responder Bag, 11.5-Liter Storage

I use this as a go bag for my job as a photographer. Its portable size combined with the nice array of pockets creates a perfect solution for storing mic cables, extra batteries and other small accessories needed in the field. The zippers are thick and sturdy, and the velcro on the front holds up strong to repeated use. The shoulder pad on the strap is a nice added touch. The back of the back has little channels to help airflow when it is up against your back for long periods of time. And there is a loop where you could technically strap it to your belt, although I’ve never done that before. The overall quality of the bag seems to be good, and so far I’ve had no rips or tears in the material. I sprayed it with some tent spray for added protection from the elements. This is a reliable alternative to a traditional backpack to carry your items when you are out in the field as a photographer.

I put two 20rnd PMags per pouch and two in the end pocket. But with 8, 7.62 20rnd mags, 5 15rnd Sig 9mm mags, a SOG multitool, IFAK, small flash light and a pair of gloves, it's a bit heavy. But it just sits behind the seat of my truck next to my POF 14.5in .308. You know, just in case.... of those pesky undead... although, I should have used 25rnd PMags so they would be a little easier to get out. They are a bit snug... but the bag is holding up well for my use... A little advice... I see a lot of complaints about all bags and backpacks coming a part and complaints about the seams. No matter the cost or quaility of the bag, there are always strings. Take a lighter and carterize them. It will be well worth your effort to make any bag last... UPDATE: Still going strong. I have had at the range several times. Six 7.62 PMags, Five Glock 19 mags, and about 5ish lbs of other stuff. Holding up great. I am not easy on it. Gets tossed into backseat of truck and pushed around A LOT. Get one, or two... UPDATE 2.0: 05/13/20017 SO far this thing is holding up well. I switched over to 6, 25rnd .308 pmags. It holds the extra weight well. Still have all the above mention gear in it also. I have also ordered 2 more. I cannot tell you enough how great this little bag is, especially for the money. UPDATE 3.0: 03/03/2018. This thing is still going strong. I’m at the range 2-3 times a month minimum. It’s holding up to the 25rnd, .308 PMags very well. You cannot beat this little bag. If you’re looking for an active shooter bag, go bag, you just can’t beat it at any price... Update 4.0: 08/27/2018. Just bought another bag. That makes six. They are all going strong including the one with the 8 SR25 PMags in it. No fraying. No threads coming loose. Nothing. When I get each bag, I go over it with a lighter carterizing all the strings. I feel it makes a difference in it staying together. Update 5.0: 09/23/2018. All bags are still going strong. Just ordered two more. Four loaded with .308 PMags, the rest with 5.56. Now the whole family uses them. Well worth the $20. I can’t emphasize enough about carterizing the loose threads. It makes a difference I believe. Update 6.0: These bags are still going strong. No issues. No tears. No strap breaks. Nothing. Update 7.0: Original purchase bag is still going strong as well as the others. I don’t know the other reviewers are doing to their bags to make them fall apart? No holes, no frays, nothing. I use this bag hard. It gets tossed around a lot in my truck’s back seat with 7.62 PMags. And for those complaining, it’s a $20 bag. Geez...

In honesty, I own two as fantasy go bags. Go against who and I'm 60. Still there is nothing wrong with preparedness. One bag contains everything related to my AR-15 pistol and the other to my AR-9 pistol. In actuality, they serve as platform range bags for me. If I'm shooing one, everything for it is in one bag. These bags should last me a decade considering the abuse I will give them. They wouldn't last months of constant field use. I think they ride comfortably. If you want to use one as battle gear, it's easy enough to access the ammo pockets on the outside with the left hand. There is ample storage for gear, accessories, and survival gear. Ammo storage capacity is bordering stupid. Cramming magazines in, 360 rounds of 5.56 in 30 round magazines and 450 rounds of 9mm in Glock 30 round magazines. I say stupid, because carrying that much ammo is extreme abuse for this bag. It's likely to cause shoulder ache too. I recommend this bag provisionally. This one is hobby grade. If you need better go find a similar design with better construction for more money. 5.11 Tactical has options at 4 to 5 times the price.

Had to replace my venerable old bail out bag so I bought this one. I appears to be fairly well made. The pockets on the outside are cordura with a plastic waterproof lining. The main compartment is cordura with a nylon lining. The elastic keepers on the mag pockets are very strong and hold the mag very snugly. The zipper pockets on both ends of the bag are ample enough for a couple boxes of pistol ammo, slim line ear muffs, small first aid/trauma kit or something of similar size. Zippers look alittle on the light duty side, but haven't really tested their capacity yet. The shoulder strap is stiff, but flexible enough to be comfortable with carrying a full bag thanks to the strap pad. The main compartment is somewhat smaller than I expected, even after reviewing the dimensions before buying the bag. There is enough room for a medium sized pistol, small cleaning kit, small toolkit, and some targets with a bit of room to spare. It will not take - say, a 8.5"x11" pad or targets. However, it will handle most of your shooting needs as a bail out bag - a couple of bottles of water, some eat-a-snacks, 5-6 pistol mags, first aid items (the molle straps on the end pockets can take some of that load), extra radio battery, cell phone mobile recharger, note pads and pens...and a couple of cans of Skoal, bacon, cheese sticks, chocolate bars, moon pies - you know the basic food groups needed for extended duty or range time. Sorry, too small for a small theromas. Having said all this, it is not a bad bail out bag for the price. Unless you will be getting way away from the HUMMV or cruiser, it can carry the essentials without become an unwieldy burden.

Love this bag for my ammo. I also use it for a light shoulder sling for my tablet and small electronics on the go.

I have no idea how old this model is as it is not listed on SOG’s official site. However, the bag is sturdy and in generally good condition considering its age. It’s perfect for me to carry my tools when I need to head down to the ships for defect rectification, having enough compartments for me to keep them organised.

A bolsa é ótima. Material resistente, bom tamanho para uso no dia a dia, e boa quantidade de bolsos para organização. Recomendo.
