Garud Purana

Gained valuable insights into Hindu death rituals, with the illustrations enhancing clarity and understanding. An intriguing book and undoubtedly one of my top reads this year.

Has knowledge but not appropriate for a Yogi ie a Saadhak.

This book does not have the sanskrit shlokas from the purana. It gives an explanation of the shlokas is an easy to understand manner. This is good for a first read to get the essence. Deeper investigation can be pursued with other more detailed books.

The Book is Very Use full Thanks for the Writer and Publisher, and Mind you paper quality is good, some people commented its average, but its really good. Any interested in knowing about your soul must buy this book .... Hari Om Namo Narayana

Unlike the other Puranas that extol the glory of God, the Garuda Purana is a conversation between Vishnu and his mount - Garuda, about death and the onward journey after that. The text has graphic details of the rigours and torturous journey following death. It describes the rituals to be performed. There are a couple of chapters thrown in about human diseases - their causes and cures and also about some of the practices prevailing at the time the Purana was composed. What I was most keen to understand what the significance of the antim sanskar and i did not see anything useful in this book. Also there are multiple spelling and grammatical errors across the book.
