Now, if the strip is really weatherproof or if it stays so is a different question and surely could depend on the manufacturer of the strip. The channels themselves are nto weatherproof **Q: Is it possible to saw these to a desired length with a hacksaw, or would that damage them?** A: That's exactly how I cut mine to length. Use light pressure when sawing let the saw do the work for clean cut. Cut lens with hacksaw too. **Q: Can these be bent to a curvature?** A: They are not designed for bending. The base is an aluminium "U" channel. You may be able to bend it, but it would be a large radius, >12", and the plastic defused may not fit in the bent form. **Q: Is there something that can be used to connect these at a 90 degree corner so that there isn't a gap?** A: I would say that if you cut these on your miter saw at 45 degrees you should make a nice 90 bend. You will have to cut your strip lighting back from the corner to allow for your soldered connections to make the turn. I cut a similar channel for a set of deck stairs that had 45 degree turns and they looked fine. You have to use a thin kerfed blade with at least 48 teeth or more on your miter saw so you get a smooth cut. Make sure you plunge the saw very slowly or the plastic will chunk out. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spread the light *by C***S on October 9, 2016* Professional results and easy to cut. I used these in my kitchen and used a dremel to cut them, a hack saw would probably work even better, but it is slower. I really like how they defuse the light from the LED's, so now I dont have points of light I have a nice smooth wash of light over the counter. Three things to keep an eye on, 1) You will receive a few plastic and a few metal mounting brackets, in my application I needed to use nearly all of them so I mixed and matched between the plastic and metal ones. Not sure why there are two different kinds of brackets but if you want to only use the clear plastic ones then make sure you have enough. 2) If you are installing these under the cabinets then make sure the included screws do not go all the way through the upper cabinet base into your cabinets. I ended up purchasing half inch #4 screws and the included screws were just a little too long. 3) If you are using connectors then be aware that they probably wont fit into the channel, so you might need to cut the channel shorter to accommodate the connector. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Seems like quality! Just did an install to replace the ... *by B***' on December 15, 2015* Seems like quality! Just did an install to replace the porch light and used all 16.5ft. The included mountain clips worked quite well provided you have the right sized screw but that's a quick trip to the hardware store. I installed the 16.4ft RGBWW supernight led strips that are waterproof (encased, thicker than non-waterproof) and while it's a snug fit it worked well. The diffuser helps but if this is in direct view you will see the individual LEDs no problem so they don't diffuse anywhere near 100% but if your installation is out of sight it won't matter. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Buy With Caution *by J***. on December 14, 2016* Hue Lightstrips DO NOT fit in these unless you strip off the clear silicone housing that the Lightstrips come in. And the items REEK of some sort of fuel or solvent, as though they were stored in a fuel depot. It's been 3 days and I can still smell it every time I walk into the room.
