Crystal Clear Water & Healthy Pond Ecosystem
Maintaining a healthy and visually stunning pond can be a constant challenge, especially when battling algae and cloudy water. After much research, I decided to invest in the VIVOHOME Pressurized Biological Pond Filter with 13-watt Light, 1580 GPH Suitable for Koi Ponds up to 800 Gallons or Ornamental Ponds up to 1600 Gallons, and it has truly exceeded every expectation! My pond has never looked this good. The pressurized biological filtration is the backbone of this unit. It effectively removes harmful toxins and maintains a balanced ecosystem, which is crucial for the health of my fish and plants. I've noticed a dramatic improvement in water quality – it's incredibly clear, allowing me to fully appreciate the vibrant colors of my koi. The integrated 13-watt UV light is a game-changer for algae control. Before this filter, I struggled with green water, but the UV light zaps away free-floating algae, keeping my pond sparkling. This combination of biological filtration and UV sterilization provides comprehensive water purification that's hard to beat. With a 1580 GPH flow rate, this filter handles a substantial volume of water with ease. It's perfectly matched for my 700-gallon koi pond, and I can see why it's recommended for koi ponds up to 800 gallons and ornamental ponds up to 1600 gallons. The power and efficiency are truly impressive. Installation was surprisingly straightforward, and the unit itself feels very robust and well-made. Cleaning is also much simpler than previous filters I've owned, which is a huge plus. If you're a pond owner looking for a powerful, reliable, and highly effective filtration system that delivers crystal clear water and promotes a healthy aquatic environment, the VIVOHOME Pressurized Biological Pond Filter is an absolute must-have. It's an investment that pays off daily in the beauty and vitality of your pond. I couldn't be happier with this purchase!

Works great!
I have a small ~700 gallon Koi pond with a waterfall. The pong is about 4' deep. I've struggled for years with brown or green water that made it difficult to see the fish. My home grown filter was also a major pain to clean. I decided to purchase a "VIVOHOME Pressurized Biological Pond Filter, 1840GPH" filter along with a "VIVOHOME Electric 120W 2700GPH" pump and 20' of 1" flexible tubing. Setting up the filter and pump were straight forward and easy. Below are my observations about performance: After 24 hours I noticed a remarkable improvement. The water was a lighter shade or brown/green and I could see fish shapes about 6" deep. After 48 hours the water was light brown in color and I could see fish about 12" deep. After 72 hours the water was slightly brown but I could see about 4' down. As I write this, the filter has been running 96 hours. The water is crystal clear and I can see the bottom of the pond clearly and I'm completely satisfied with the filter and pump combination. When setting up the pond I located the pump at the far end of the pond and away from the water fall and placed it on a plant shelf about 12-14" deep. I located the pump here to improve water circulation and also to keep the pump out of the muck that accumulates on the bottom of the pool. The pump is pushing water through 20' of one inch tubing. The water fall flow is more than adequate, but if I had to do it over again I would have used 1 1/4" tubing for increased flow. I'm happy with my purchase. The filter is easy to clean and mess free, which was not the case with my old home grown filter. I should have done this years ago. I hope this review is helpful. Best wishes.

Game-Changer for Pond Owners – Crystal Clear Water in 24 Hours!
I can’t say enough good things about the VIVOHOME Pressurized Biological Pond Filter with UV Light. After struggling with murky, algae-filled water for weeks, this filter completely turned things around—and fast. Within 24 hours of installation, the transformation was incredible. What was once a cloudy green mess is now crystal clear water, and I can finally see my fish again! They seem happier too, swimming around visibly for the first time in ages. Setup was a breeze. The instructions were straightforward, and connecting it to our existing pump system took no time at all. Everything fit well, and the entire unit feels sturdy and well-built. It’s compact enough to be tucked out of sight but powerful enough to handle the job with ease. The UV light feature is what truly makes the difference. It started killing off algae immediately, and unlike some filters that take days or weeks to show improvement, this one delivered fast and dramatic results. Our algae problem is now completely under control, even in full summer sun. Another feature I really appreciate is how easy the unit is to maintain. The clear water port makes it obvious when it’s time to backwash, so there’s no guesswork involved. The backwashing process itself is super simple and takes just a few minutes. I also like that it’s a pressurized system, so we could place it below the water level and still get excellent flow. If you’re dealing with a murky pond, algae overgrowth, or just want a low-maintenance filtration system that actually works, I highly recommend this one. It’s well worth the investment. The water has never looked better, and it brings so much more enjoyment to our pond area now that we can see the fish and enjoy a clean, balanced ecosystem.

Vivo sent a replacement
I Ordered Vivo filter for $171 (with tax) in April 2023. I received it on April 13, 2023, Installed it in late May 2023 when the weather became warmer to work outside and to clean the pond. The filter cleaned well initially but after a month when the sun became more hotter, algae started forming in the water and settled in the floor of the pond. Water remained clear more or less and I cleaned any algae that were floating with my pond net, and also cleaned the pond filter as per the instructions that came with the VIvo Pond filter. Three weeks back (early August 2023) the entire circuit started tripping. After troubleshooting I found the Vivo Pond filter was the reason the line was tripping (i have GFCI circuit breaker). The pond pump and the Tetra UV filter are working fine but soon as I plug in the VIvio filter system, the circuit breaker trips. I sent couple of customer service request through Amazon which directs you to Vivo website but have received no response. Calls made have not been responded. Absolutely awful customer service! For a Pond filter that costed $171 breaking up within 3 months of installation is really shows the very bad quality of the system. On top of that no response from customer service is very annoying as this is still under warranty period and you would expect some sort of troubleshooting or replacement but if they dont respond at all then you have no option. Amazon sent an email after I put in the customer claim inquiring whether I received any response from Vivo and I responded stating "No Response". Haven't heard back from Amazon either since then. I am going to call Amazon customer service directly to see if they can help. But this is a very poorly constructed pond filter system and not worth $171 with an awfully poor customer service. DO NOT RECOMMEND! PLEASE DONT BUY. Update 09/02/2023: customer service got back to me and today I received a new one. Changing my rating accordingly.

So far, this device is completely non-functional - UPDATED
We received our pump this weekend and set it up immediately. The instructions are essentially non-existent but if you are familiar with pumps its not too complicated. If you are not familiar with pumps, buy elsewhere. We plugged it in and nothing. We are currently working under the assumption that it is DOA but not having much success with support so far (we are in contact via email). Additionally, there does not appear to be any supporting information for this unit. Example: There are bio-balls in the base of the unit. If you are unsure what those are, you will stay that way as the only thing mentioned about them is their name. It does not come with hoses or clamps so make sure you order them as well. There are no setup instructions but there are reasonably well defined care instructions so if you can get it running properly, you should be able to care for it. I will update this review as things develop but so far I wouldn't recommend this device. UPDATE: Added a star because the VivoHome support department has agreed to replace the device. More info to come once the replacement arrives. UPDATE2: Back down to 1 star. New device doesn't work either. There is no activity when powering on. Support has no ideas but to replace the pump again but I don't want a house full of trash pumps. There are no online resources and no actual support. Buying a better product.

UV light filter quickly cleared pond of bad algae bloom
I recently built a 600 gallon pond incorporating this filter. I did not activate the UV light in this filter as I was trying to establish the good bacteria before adding fish. I ran pond for about 3 weeks before adding fish. Everything seemed great until a rapid daily temperature increase which caused a huge algae bloom. It was bad enough that I could not see the bottom of my 40" deep pond and seemed to cause the death of a fish due to oxygen deprivation. I plugged in the UV light on this filter as soon as I saw the algae bloom and within 2-3 days the water was completely clear again. I've read reviews for other types of much more expensive UV filters and algae killers that denigrate this type of UV light/filter combo, but in my experience this thing worked wonders quickly and likely saved the rest of my fish.

Clean pond easy to use
I should’ve bought this filter years ago. I have a medium size koi pond. Every other month I was having to buy new filters. Usually replacing the filter every year. And still fought a loosing battle with algae. I’ve had this filter for 6 months. No algae, clear water and first time changing the filters. I can truly enjoy my pond now.
