Huna philosophy is about learning to become a conscious cocreator with the Universe. Hawaiian shaman King uses Kahuna healing methods to help us access the hidden energy of life, develop powers of concentration, and make friends with the deepest aspect of our being. Learn how your Higher Self, or aumakua, is contacted in the dream dimension. Get in touch with the Mana, the hidden energy of life. Develop higher powers of concentration by utilizing the tikis, created images of sight, sound, and feeling in meditation. Become aware of your subconscious, an integral part of your being, which impatiently awaits communion with the ego. Review: very nice perspective on working with the subconscious and superconscious minds - This book is remarkably well-written. It takes a Huna path, with strong Hawaiian flavor. Lost Secrets of Ancient Hawaiian Huna, Volume 1 would balance this. I would also want to have The Future Is Yours: Do Something About It! , at least, maybe also Theta Healing: Introducing an Extraordinary Energy Healing Modality , perhaps. There is a Sufi story about moths, and the only moth that really understands the candle is the one who gives himself totally to the light, and the light gives itself to him. This applies to work in this field. These techniques work from the larger self, especially in service to others. Without service, many things just don't work, or work only slightly. The Kumulipo: The Hawaiian Hymn of Creation is the Hawaiian creation story, and as with all such stories, even those in Whispers of the Ancients: Native Tales for Teaching and Healing in Our Time , phylogeny recapitulates ontogeny. House of Shattering Light: Life as an American Indian Mystic would also help, as would The Power of Your Subconscious Mind (Empower Your Life) , and the Max Freedom Long books cited in the text. His comparison of Huna concepts with Freudian and Jungian ideas is useful. His discussion of Mana is the best I've seen in print, even better than The Art of Chi Kung: Making the Most of Your Vital Energy , if only slightly. I wish he'd addressed dreams in more detail, though what he did put in is tantalizingly interesting. The meditation section is useful. The author's apprenticeships with both an African shaman, and a Hawaiian who had to have been very advanced in Huna, show through in nice ways, also. Well worth the read. I read it through at one sitting, I couldn't put it down. Review: Open mind, open heart - Background: I saw this recommended on a sub-reddit regarding shamanism, and I put it on my wish list. A month later, I find out I am going to Hawaii, and there I met someone who really put everything in perspective. Once I got home, I ordered this book. If you are not open minded, then this is not the book for you. This is a lot of confirmation about how metaphysical laws work. Taking what this book talks about and watching people in real life, I notice a lot of people are creating the heaven or hell they think life is. It is a great beginner's book to taking that first step away from how our society wants you to live. I have talked about this book to friends and family, and there is currently a line of people wanting to read it! Again, if you are not open mind

An Excellent Book!
This is an excellent book by a master of Hawaiian psychology and spirituality, and it is very, very helpful for anyone who reads it. It is full of techniques and ideas and suggestions for one to live a happier, healthier life. Huna is not a religion but a set of ideas and a way of life inspired by Hawaiian knowledge and tradition. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to prosper physically, mentally and spiritually.

Amazing and Dangerous
This book needs to be read and internalized for full benefits to be realized. I am a bit of a 'scientific method' guy - so there is quite a load of BS in this about clairvoyance, telepathy, etc. Leave that out of the equation and selectively work on your inner game to improve your self-confidence in an inside-out manner. There are lots of suggested exercises in this book that will raise your performance and your poise to the next level. Strange things happened to me - the book states that "The world is what you think it is" - and it actually happened in a rather dramatic way to me (again it can be scientifically explained without resorting to the supernatural). I highly recommend this book if you are keen on improving your inner game with the intention of achieving difficult goals.

Incredible book!
Can definitely change lives! Explains theoretically and practically how to apply energy of life and basically heal your spirit! Learn how to communicate with your subconscious and understand how your mind and spirit work! Amazingly understanding to everyone and not one person I talk to about this book or let the scan through it had anything negative to say about it! Everyone got more interested in the subject and got inspired in finding out more information on spirituality! Has positively influenced my life and let me understand life and energy a lot better! A must read if you are interested in or are learning the spiritual field!

Excellent Psychological Information!
I have been a student of many books and courses, including "A Course in Miracles" and "The Way of Mastery". This book does not contradict what I have learned, but it DOES ADD critical information about how to create and implement the positive life changes most of us want, particularly in regard to the workings of the subconscious mind. The author is unassuming, direct and clear about all he says. It easily rates five stars.

The Secret... Polynesian Style
An interesting take on the law of attraction, or "The Secret". The author explains that "huna" means "secret", so "the Huna Way" of the subtitle is "the secret way", and likewise, "kahuna" means "the secret". There was a good mix of practical meditation techniques and tips, and a general reminder to be in the present, aware of the now, and to see the world the way you want it to become. To be fair, this is a reprint of a book from the mid-1980s, reprinted to take advantage of the hunger for all things law of attraction related. But the author lost me regarding such discredited and fraudulent phenomena as Orgone energy, Kirlian photography, the telekinetic powers of children, and other, very much firmly in the area of pseudoscience. If you can mentally redact this portion of the book, you would enjoy what the author has to offer here.

An insightful listen - I want the paperback now!!
I absolutely loved the book, not only because it gave me more insights as a Huna student but also because Serge Kahili King explains so much about the depths of the Hawaiian language (of which I am a student as well).

Mastering your hidden self Huna
Libro interessante e molto peculiare. Ci sono delle perle e tecniche uniche che possono andare in parallelo con tecniche di PNL o altre trovabili nella legge di attrazione. Non è un manuale di tecniche ma un panorama sulla filosofia e spiritualità huna. Lettura interessante.
