3D at home is now for real!
I got a pair of these and tested A Christmas Carol on Blu-Ray 3D with a Panasonic DMP-BDT100 3D player (which is excellent too) and a Samsung HL67A750 LED DLP 67" HDTV. The 3D is great and the glasses link to the TV instantly. I tried to put my had in front of the sensor and it takes several seconds for the shutter effect to turn off but it relinks immediately upon removing the block from the sensor. I am excited for the new 3D movies that will be coming out. I used Mode 2 and set the HDMI 3 input to PC and everything is flawless. Even for a movie that wasn't "made" for 3D, it is very cool. I am now building an HTPC with an Nvidia GPU so I can do much more in 3D. When Comcast gets 3D broadcasts in my area, I will get a Gefen Detective Plus with a reprogrammed EDID for Samsung DLPs and the Mitsubishi 3D kit(Boo to Samsung and Mitsubishi) so it will convert the other 3D formats to checkerboard, which is required for DLPs at this point and I will be able to play 360 and PS3 games on the TV too. I am also looking into getting a projector so I can watch 3D on a 200 inch screen. It really is that good, but of course there are people who just can't see it as well just as there are people who can't tell the difference between SD and 1080p Blu-Ray's. These glasses are excellent and work well over glasses too. They are not small and have some weight to them too, but it's not that big of a deal. Overall, I give them an enthusiastic two thumbs up. Buy these now!

DOA
Glasses received DOA. I bought these for my Mitsubishi 60738 3D TV based on another persons review on this site saying they worked great with their 60738 TV. I tried turning them on and they would not come on. I played with the on button and got it to light if I held for 5 seconds but that was it. I called Optoma and support was terrible. At first they told me to go replace the batteries?! I then convinced them to let me talk directly with a tech support person and after explaining how the device was not coming on they said it was apparent the device was defective.DOA, poor tech support (web site links for tech support broken link) and unknowledgable people at Optoma. I'm sending them back and looking for something of higher quality.

Read this if you have an Nvidia IR emitter OR Acer H9500BD
I'm using an HTPC nvidia 3d vision system with IR emitter going to an Acer H5360 DLP Link 3D projector to a 110" screen. Nvidia GPU cards require the USB emitter in order to output 3D. I decided to try the DLP Link glasses by Optoma because of all the positive reviews. No matter how I tried, I couldn't get them to sync with the projector (no 3D at all), even though I was able to use Ultra-Clear DLP Link glasses with no problem. I was about to RMA the Optomas back for a refund, when I read something on another forum about the problem arising with DLP Link 3d glasses losing sync if they are in sight of the Nvidia 3D emitter. I decided to place the emitter to the side out of sight and voila, the Optomas worked perfectly! They are heavier, bulkier, and not very comfortable on the bridge of the nose after about an hour, BUT - the image seems to have more contrast and clarity than either the Nvidia's or the Ultra-Clears. This is more noticeable in darker sci-fi movies like Avatar 3D. So I'm keeping these for myself and letting other family members use the other brands. Well worth the money, just watch out for that IR emitter!UPDATE 3/14/2013I now use these with an Acer H9500BD projector and an Xtreamer Sidewinder 3. If you own the H9500BD, you know how hard it is to find the Acer 3D glasses. I own one pair of the Acer's (which came with the projector) CrystalEyes5 glasses (which don't sync further than 6 ft from the screen), UltraClear glasses (poor image quality due to lack of contrast), and these Optomas. These work every bit as well as the Acers, and have a wider field of view. Just bought 3 more pair for family members. I highly recommend these for the Acer H9500BD.

There is more to 3D than meets the eye with these glasses
Well, I thought it would be easy - Just buy the optoma glasses and the optoma hd66 projector and download some 3d content and you are all set for a pop-out 3D experience. Not exactly that straightforward yet. I was having some success with depth 3d in videos of 3d games, but most of the 3D videos on youtube (and there are a lot of them out there) just don't work out of the box. I also tried with various stereoscopic content but no luck.I called optoma support and they said I need a 3D graphics card capable of outputting 120hz to the projector. I could not get my existing fujitsu laptop to do that. I am returning these for now and will wait for a time when these are more plug-and-play with better support and more congruent with the available content and technology.

its ok considering the price
I have nothing else to compare this with but they are bulky and super uncomfortable and will not fold up Nothing to keep them in except the packaging that it come in through the shipping. I wont buy this again nor will i recommend it due to these facts,Now as for functionality they arent bad at all they do what i expected them to do, they allow the 3D effects to work on my Mitsubishi 60738 DLP TV
