Blazer 189-8010 Big Buddy Turbo Torch, Black

This torch is great.Easy to fill. Nice size flame with an adjustment slider. It also features a lock-on feature.Would recommend.

I never realized how useful a torch could really be. I'm into the R/C hobby and was looking for a torch that would help in the installation of bullet connectors like XT150, 6.5mm Castle bullets, etc. Of course though, torches have many other uses.I looked into the Blazer Big Shot torch. That model offers big capacity and has a nice big flame. I was about to order it when I saw an advertisement for the Big Buddy torch which, at the time of purchase, was relatively new to the market.What the Big Buddy has over the Big Shot is that with the Big Shot, the flame is "locked" on once you ignite it. While this is a VERY desired feature as it frees up your hands to better manipulate your project piece, it can also be a hindrance when working with items that reach your desired temperature quickly. With the Big Buddy, you have the OPTION of locking the flame on or keeping the flame alive as long as you keep the flow/ignitor button held down. For my purposes, I need to move quickly when soldering bullet connectors and having the flame go out as soon as I release the flame/ignition button is almost a must for me.Construction/components of both torches are almost identical. The main differences are the fact that the Big Shot has an aluminum reservoir, less control over how you use your torch, the head angles up slightly and is more expensive. The decision is a no brainer for me but your needs may be different.I haven't owned this product for a year or more but I can say it starts on the first try every time. I really do recommend it.

Bought from a local smoke shop and spent $40 on it and I thought it was definitely worth the money it's been pushing for over a year now so to see it here on Amazon for $20 dollars seems like a steal to me ! Produces a very nice decent sized flame that heats up my nectar collector quickly and my rig with ease would definitely recommend.

Honestly, I'm pretty astounded at how great this product is. It does kinda suck that the lowest setting is still a good 3"-4" flame, so I still have to use a regular lighter or heat gun in tight or risky spots. But, damn... The only complaint I really have about it is that it's too good of a torch, so I'd say that's more of a slight inconvenience than a deal-breaker. A++

This thing is awesome. It will heat up anything quickly. I have had this torch for 5 months now and I have not had a single problem with it. It holds a decent amount of butane and it is simple to use. If you want your torch to be quiet this is NOT the torch for you. It is noticeably loud and sounds like a mini jet blasting off. It is very durable and you do not have to worry about it breaking. I am not gentle with this torch and it has held up very well. Great product!!!

I use this for metal smithing. It’s a great high heat torch for a home studio. Good for medium size jewelry pieces. Too hot for small delicate areas.

Great torch, got it for 25 dollars and some change so I don't know how the price changed so quickly, puts out a thiccc flame I use it mostly in the smallest setting and it's more then adequate, also coming from a company such as blazer I know if I have any problems their customer support will be great, overall a very good torch for the price!
